 Idaho Botanical Garden

Creative scarecrows peek around trees, plantings, and fence posts in the Garden from October 1 to October 31. Idaho Botanical Garden’s eleventh year celebrating Scarecrow Stroll will display 31 different scarecrow designs entered by community members and organizations. Entrees represent an upcoming event, unique theme, or fashioned to represent a school or club mascot. The design contest is a great team building activity for employees while they create the most fantastic scarecrow imaginable. Scarecrow Stroll is an important event that brings many preschoolers and children of all ages to the Garden during the changing of seasons to connect with nature. All guests vote for their favorite scarecrow and prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners on November 1. Visit the Garden to view and vote for Scarecrows during regular operating hours.  Join us at the Farmstead on October 4th from 4:00-8:00. Adult Night Fall Harvest Festival – Oct 5 at 6pm-9pm

 

 

 

 

 

 

 For this new Adult Night (21and up) we are excited to introduce The Underhill Family Orchestra as the evening’s entertainment. We will have a free photo booth from Caravan Photo, Silent Disco by Kaleidisco, and Virtual Reality Tours by VR1 Arcade. A special “What species of bee are you?” survey and education segment along with mead tasting by Nectar Creek. We will host a variety of activities that are geared towards adults looking for a night out.

We will have many of your favorite food vendors Willowcreek Grill and Raw on Tenth St., Tony's Tamales, and Sushi Shack. There will be wine from Sawtooth Winery, beer from Mad Swede Brewing and County Line Brewing, and cider from Meriwether Cider Company for a variety of local adult bevys to enjoy while strolling through the Scarecrow Stroll exhibit!  What could be more fun than spending a day with your best canine friend? How about spending the day with your best friend and several thousand other dog lovers and their dogs?

Who: Your friends, your kids, your dog(s) and you!
What: A 1-mile dog walk through the park along with a 5k Fun Run, plus vendors, contests, demonstrations, food and more!
Why: To have fun and raise money for homeless animals

When: Saturday, October 6, 2018 – Run begins at 9 a.m., and the walk begins at 10 a.m. (Participate with or without your dog!)

 Frightened Felons X: Celebrating TEN Years!

We invite you to tour the site at night and dare to enter the only haunted cell house in Boise (expanded this year with more frights per cell!). With special performances of the Zombie "Thriller" Dance, costume contests with cash prizes, actors portraying inmates of the past, Old Pen mugshots and photo ops, photos with our historic hearse and undertaker, music, presentations, prizes, scavenger hunt, food trucks, coffee and hot cocoa! Food trucks this year include Foxy Franks, Genki Takoyaki, il Segreto Wood Fired Pizza and Twisted Sister Coffee and Smoothies. Tickets will be available beginning September 3 at 12am.

 Join us for our 2nd annual Truck or Treat SO KIDS CAN EAT! Last year was such a huge success & with everyone's help we were able to donate over a thousand dollars to our local schools to alleviate the school lunch debt! We can't wait to see you all there and raise even more money this year for our local schools!
