September 14th has been dubbed “National Eat a Hoagie Day.” The Treasure Valley is home to a plethora of sandwich shops, some better than others. To celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of area sandwich shops and while care has been taken to try and include as many as we can, there’s bound to be some that have been overlooked. Without further ado, here’s our list of Treasure Valley sandwich shops organized by location.

Multiple Locations

Blimpie

Blimpie is a national chain with locations in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell. They serve up not only subs, but they do paninis, wraps, and salads too.

Hugo’s

With two locations in Meridian and one in Boise, Hugo’s offers sandwiches and other fare for hungry diners. They’re known for their “famous deli fries,” which are a delicious addition to any sandwich.

Jersey Mike’s

Jersey Mike’s has two Boise locations and a new location coming to Meridian. This east coast-based chain touts itself for being a “sub above” other sandwich competitors. All of their meats are fresh sliced and delicious. You can’t go wrong with the #13 Mike’s Way.

Jimmy John’s

Delivering sandwiches freaky fast, Jimmy John’s has multiple locations across the area.

Port of Subs

Port of Subs is another franchise with two locations in Boise and one in Nampa. With amazingly soft bread, and fresh cut meats and cheeses, Port of Subs has carved its own slice of the sandwich business here in the valley.

San Francisco Sourdough Eatery

Using bread that’s the hallmark of the Bay Area of California, San Francisco Sourdough Eatery has really good sandwiches. With two area locations, one in Meridian, and one in Boise, you can enjoy one of their signature sandwiches, soups, or gourmet salads.

Subway

This national franchise has locations all over the valley and is the periodic home of the five dollar footlong.

Deli George

Family owned since 1997, Deli George serves up a variety of sandwiches to hungry patrons. Their Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch is a must try.

Even Steven’s

Even Steven’s is a franchise that actually gives back. For every sandwich that’s ordered, it donates a portion of the proceeds to charity, helping to feed those in need. The Mihami Vice and the BBQ Pork are good choices if you’re looking to try one of their sandwiches.

A newer, west coast-based franchise with one location currently, Bruchi’s specializes in cheesesteaks and gourmet subs. Their Pepper Steak is good, especially if you like spicy.

Located in Fast Eddy’s on Eagle Road (Across from Lowe’s), Earl of Sandwich brings its unique take on the sandwich. With different meat and sauce combinations, they have a variety of sandwiches sure to delight discriminating sandwich aficionados. Try the Full Montagu or the Chipotle Chicken Avocado.

Fat Guy’s Fresh Deli

Locally owned by Chef Wally, Fat Guy’s Fresh Deli specializes in creative sandwiches, salads and soups of the day. The #20 PC Pedro and the #26 The Big Chief are two worth ordering. Chef Wally delivers amazing value, meaning you get a lot of food. And as he says, “eat the bacon, life’s short.” We couldn’t agree more.
