SUMMARY:SAW the Musical
DESCRIPTION:SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw premiered Off-Broadway Fall 2023 in New York after its smash out-of-town tryout in Philadelphia! One of the most thought-provoking horror films of all time now is…a musical. SAW The Musical hilariously captures the events of the first movie\, parodying the Saw that started it all\, following from where Lawrence Gordon and Adam Stanheight find each other for the first time in the bathroom trap. Will they follow “the rules” as they discover each other’s secrets? Will they escape the game in time and saw right through? A love story with fluidity (and lots more fluids)\, SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw is Little Shop of Horrors meets Avenue Q\, pushing the boundary on sexuality and how to love. \nThe show is recommended for audience 16+. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted in the theatre. Parental discretion is strongly advised due to adult themes. Though there is certainly blood\, gore is minimal in this show being a parody. \nSAW The Musical is currently planning/booking its 24 month+ National Tour launching in Los Angeles February 2024\, after opening Off-Broadway September 16th 2023. Originally only planned through January 1st 2024\, the show has now been extended twice in New York\, currently until June 23rd 2024 (www.sawthemusical.com).

SUMMARY:Emo Nite
DESCRIPTION:Not a band. Not DJ’s. We throw parties for the music we love. \nAs Rolling Stone observed a few years ago\, “Emo Nite Vindicated the Scene.” \nSince they threw their first party at an East L.A. dive bar\, Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca\, and a dedicated crew of regular attendees\, built Emo Nite into a phenomenon. Top-tier emo artists\, old and new\, curate playlists and perform\, with guest lists boasting members of blink-182\, All Time Low\, Dashboard Confessional\, The Maine\, and Good Charlotte. Scene-friendly pop culture mavericks often participate\, like past attendees Post Malone\, Demi Lovato\, Machine Gun Kelly\, and Skrillex. \nIt’s all too easy to forget that before the first Emo Nite in December 2014\, “emo” was a joke. \nSomehow on its journey from a melodic post-hardcore subgenre\, built on earnest emotional expression\, to a mainstream moniker assigned to anything remotely angsty\, “emo” became a dirty word. Despite the positive impact ushered in by waves of bands\, from the crucial “Revolution Summer” and Sunny Day Real Estate through Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance\, accepting “emo” as a dismissive designation or identity invited polite embarrassment and even scorn. \nBut Freed and Petracca grew up loving the music associated with emo and the people like them who similarly embraced outsider art and subculture\, regardless of changing fashions or pretentious snobbery. Petracca told The New Yorker the idea behind the first Emo Nite celebration was to center a happy\, communal experience on the music they once listened to when they were upset and alone. \n“I sang Dashboard Confessional at karaoke at a friend’s birthday party and thought it was super fun to go out with friends and listen to music we actually liked\,” recalls Petracca\, who met Freed when the pair worked at a creative agency together. “Every other club in LA played EDM\, Top 40\, or hip-hop. We always found ourselves pre-gaming with emo and pop-punk music before we went out.” \nFreed knew a bartender at the Short Stop in Echo Park and convinced him to let them throw a party on a random\, rainy Tuesday. They invited friends via Facebook; double the bar’s capacity turned up. “We decided to see how far we could take it\,” Petracca says. “‘Who would be the craziest guest?’ We invited Mark Hoppus\, and he came! He did our first one at Echoplex\, which was our third party ever.” \n“There’s no disconnect between the artist and fan\,” Freed points out. “I think that’s brought people closer to the music. It created a really strong sense of community\, at a time when emo wasn’t ‘cool.’” \nThere may be a surprise acoustic set or even a full-band performance\, but ultimately\, it’s about the experience. Emo Nite turned a party into a community\, reclaiming the spirit of how the scene began. \nIt’s now a recurring event thrown by dozens of friends in over 30 cities in the United States. Emo Nite runs full-day festivals and curates coveted performance spots at Coachella\, Life is Beautiful\, and Firefly. Freed and Petracca launched successful clothing collaborations with brands like OBEY\, Urban Outfitters\, PLEASURES\, The Hundreds\, Rose in Good Faith\, Market\, and OWSLA. \n“A larger promoter told us the shelf life of a club night in Los Angeles was two years\,” Freed says\, marveling at Emo Nite’s staying power. “A hundred percent of it is the people that go to it. This music makes people feel connected. The energy of it is so special. You get a group of people together who look different\, but they have this thing in common. We started seeing friend groups form really\, really quickly. People met their significant others at these events. The community really trusts each other.” \n“Emo Nite LA has become an essential gathering point for fans of emo\, pop-punk\, and related styles\,” Rolling Stone noted. \nIn October 2021\, Emo Nite’s founders threw Emo Nite Vegas Vacation\, a three-day event headlined by Avril Lavigne and Machine Gun Kelly\, with Sleeping With Sirens\, MOD SUN\, 3OH!3\, and more. \n“What Emo Nite does better than any of their competitors is they make ‘emo culture’ feel both nostalgic and brand new\,” The Summer Set’s Brian Logan Dales told Forbes\, in a profile which included professions of love from members of Papa Roach\, Underoath\, and State Champs. “You can go to an Emo Nite with your best friends and sing along to old songs you grew up with\, and at the same time\, discover a brand-new artist who’s making music today because they grew up on that very same music as you. They’ve taken the emo of the past and helped it forge a new path for the future.” \nAs emo reenters popular culture with a blend of adoring nostalgia and optimistic forward- thinking\, Emo Nite remains an authentic space to celebrate diversity\, experience passionate catharsis\, and champion authentic expression. Emo Nite isn’t a band or a DJ crew. It’s an idea\, one as simple as the urge to throw a party for a beloved style of music. Often imitated but never truly duplicated\, Emo Nite’s founders and supporters are fond of saying\, “If you don’t see the grave\, it ain’t our rave.” \n“There’s a lot of ownership from our community of the event itself and the Emo Nite brand\,” Petracca says. “It’s about breaking down that barrier of ‘Look at me\, it’s all about me.’ No\, it’s about us\, together\, in this room. It belongs to every single person that comes through the door.”\nThe co-founders continue to look ahead. “Emo Nite definitely impacted culture\,” Freed notes. “But we have no plans to stop changing the way we view the evolution and expansion of the genre.”

SUMMARY:Livingston - A Hometown Odyssey Tour
DESCRIPTION:Livingston’s music is the sound of reality and fiction colliding. The 21-year-old singer/songwriter and producer from Denton\, Texas would spend much of his isolated youth honing in his passion for music to escape his anxiety. The sonic world he created pairs deeply personal\, intimate\, emotional lyrics and melodies alongside larger-than-life arrangements\, production and musical layers. \nHaving reclaimed his independence from a major record label one year ago\, Livingston has been defining his world one song at a time\, which has been building momentum exponentially across socials\, streaming\, and with true fan conversion. 2024 is off to a very exciting and impactful pace for Livingston\, and isn’t slowing down any time soon

Scheduled for release on February 14\, 2024\, the biopic promises an intimate look into Marley’s life\, rise to fame\, and lasting impact on music and culture. \n  \nDon’t miss this opportunity to witness The Wailers as they celebrate the rich legacy of Bob Marley’s “Legend” and the cinematic homage “Bob Marley: One Love.” \n  \nJoin us on a heartfelt journey infused with love\, unity\, and soul-stirring reggae melodies. Experience the timeless rhythms of The Wailers as they embark on their highly anticipated Legend 40th Anniversary Spring 2024 Tour\, captivating audiences on stages worldwide. \n  \nThis performance will be opened by Afrosonics. \n  \nAfrosonics Bio: \n  \nOut of the desire to bring communities together\, Afrosonics creates music featuring a collective of musicians from the Middle East\, Europe\, Africa\, South America and the United States. At the heart of the group’s progression\, the band has conscientiously integrated new American musicians (former refugees from war torn areas of the world) into the collective that is Afrosonics. The genre twist deepens with the infusion Idaho musicians into the collective with roots in country\, rock\, jazz and opera. In a world of negative messages\, we represent a positive hope to bring a harmonious voice to all.

SUMMARY:Jordan Davis
DESCRIPTION:“This is exactly the record I want to put out. I don’t know what’s going to happen with it\, but I can at least tell you that the one certainty I do have about this record\, is I’m proud of it.” – Jordan Davis \nTo bring Jordan Davis to that admission has been a life’s journey. In stepping back with country music’s biggest stars to emerge in recent years of his latest album Bluebird Days\, he tells not only the magic of a song like CMA Song of the Year “Buy Dirt\,” but of the evolution of Jordan Davis the person\, the songwriter\, and the artist. \nSometimes\, a popular song becomes more than just a hit—it turns into a phenomenon. And that’s what happened with “Buy Dirt\,” Davis’ 2021 duet with Luke Bryan. It reached Number One on the Hot Country Songs chart and was one of the Top Five most streamed country songs in both 2021 and 2022. That kind of success brings expectations\, but—as Davis discovered when he set to work on his follow-up album Bluebird Days—it can also lead to a new sense of possibility. \n“There’s pressure\, definitely\,” he says. “It’s not about trying to recreate ‘Buy Dirt\,’ but we can approach songs like we approached that one\, and that’s to write something that people are going to feel\, and not just hear.” \n“I’ve settled into a really good headspace in writing songs\, which is rooted in being honest—about past things that I’ve gone through\, good or bad\, and about some things that have kind of scared me about the future. So\, the best thing for me is that ‘Buy Dirt’ opened up a whole other lane of songs that I think people can really connect with.” \nWith Bluebird Days (Davis’ second full-length album\, following 2018’s Home State\, which included the Platinum-selling No. 1 hits “Singles You Up\,” “Take It from Me\,” and “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot;” he’s also released two EPs)\, the Shreveport\, Louisiana-born singer-songwriter digs deep into his own experiences for a collection that offers a wide range of emotions\, meditations\, and memories\, matched by his signature sound\, blending traditional and contemporary genres and styles. With a young family and a career that’s rapidly on the rise\, he was still surprised to see the depth that this material was reaching. \n“As you start writing for a record\, you’re kind of stockpiling songs and at some point\, you go back and take inventory\,” he says. “As I started looking back on the songs I’d written\, I was like\, ‘Wow\, I really wrote about that’ or ‘I showed that side that I never had.’ There’s a song called ‘Short Fuse’ that’s about a temper that I have. A lot of people don’t see that\, and unfortunately\, the people that do see it are the people I’m closest to\, and it’s a song about me trying to change that.” \nThe title track examines his life as a child of divorced parents. While initially nervous to put the song on the record\, he reflects that ultimately\, “I know a lot of people are going to connect with that and go\, ‘Man\, I feel the exact same way.’” \nHe points to “Fishing Spot” as an especially personal moment on Bluebird Days. “I bought a fishing boat—that was\, like\, the biggest purchase I’ve made\,” he says. “It’s very unassuming\, it’s nothing special at all. But I fell in love with fishing because of my grandfather. And I remember that first day thinking\, ‘This is cool\, man—I got this boat\, and one day me and my son and my daughter can come fish\,’ and then an overwhelming sadness came over me.” \n“I think it’s just that it was kind of a pipe dream\,” he continues. “We didn’t grow up with a ton of money\, so the idea of having a boat and being able to go out and do whatever at this point in my life was just kind of crazy. I did a lot of talking to my grandfather out there that day\, and that’s definitely one song that comes from a very real place.” \nFor the first time\, Davis included two songs that he didn’t have a hand in writing—although\, with “Money Isn’t Real\,” it wasn’t for lack of effort. “I’d been trying to write a song called ‘When the Money Runs Out\,’” he says. “I’d started it\, thrown it away\, restarted\, and it was terrible. But I wanted to touch on how my relationship with money was not good. I truly thought that the more that I had\, the less problems I would have\, and that’s not true at all. It can make things easier\, but it is not a problem solver. And the way these writers did it was brilliant\, exactly what I was trying to say.” \nDavis thinks it’s no accident that he recorded this album almost exactly ten years after he moved to Nashville to take his shot at a music career\, with all the reflection that anniversary stirred up. “I was working a bartending gig that I really wasn’t super happy about\,” he says\, “but it was keeping me in Nashville so that I could wake up at eight o’clock—after getting home at 1:30—go write a song for five hours and then go right back to the bar and wash\, rinse\, repeat. If I were to go back and tell that guy\, ‘Hey\, man\, in ten years\, you’re gonna have a pretty successful touring schedule\, you’re gonna have four or five Number Ones\, and you’re gonna have a CMA Song of the Year that you co-wrote with your brother?’ I would just say ‘Thanks for the optimism\, I appreciate it\, but that’s not happening— you’re crazy.’”\n“So\, I look back and think about how fortunate I’ve been to meet the people I’ve met\, to get to write songs with the people I get to write songs with. Every once in a while\, you need a ball to bounce your way\, and I was blessed to get some of those bounces.” \nAs serious as some of the themes on Bluebird Days are\, this sense of joy also shines through on songs like “Damn Good Time” and “One Beer in Front of the Other.” Davis notes that “Tucson Too Late” is probably the most traditional country song he’s ever recorded (“There’s not many songs I’ve put out narrating somebody else’s story”)\, comparing it to Keith Whitley’s classic “Miami\, My Amy.” He credits the album’s daring\, exciting sonics to producer Paul DiGiovanni—”I truly let Paul run wild; he’s the best in town. I trust him and that belief hasn’t let us down yet.” \nTo Davis\, there was one overarching ambition for the project. “The big thing for me was to show my growth\,” he says. “Growth in shows\, growth in the songwriting\, growth in the topics we’re touching on. I really wanted to show how I’ve changed as an artist and a songwriter\, for the better\, than on my first album.” And he credits much of that determination to the example of artists with whom he’s been fortunate enough to work and tour. \n“Luke Bryan\, Kane Brown\, Luke Combs—those guys know exactly what they do\, who they want to be\, what they want to say\,” he says. “You don’t have a career like Luke Bryan’s without saying\, ‘Hey\, this is me\, this is what I do.’ That’s what I take away from those guys\, to be confident in who you are and what you do.”\nDavis draws on that confidence to take a major step forward\, allowing all the ways he’s challenged himself to give him a greater sense of certainty and conviction. “There are a lot of things I can’t control\,” he says\, “but I can control the records I make\, and I want to know that I did everything possible to make the best music I could. So far\, I feel sure that I’ve done that.” \nNow with Bluebird Days\, Davis can undoubtedly say\, “This is exactly the record I want to put out. I don’t know what’s going to happen with it\, but I can at least tell you that the one certainty I do have about this record\, is I’m proud of it.”
