SUMMARY:Atreyu - The Curse Tour w/ Norma Jean\, Zero 9:36
DESCRIPTION:ATREYU are a band in the truest sense of the word: friends who come together to create music for themselves\, for each other\, and for the thriving community that has forged around it. They are bonds born of time; of joy and sadness; of success and hardship. But most importantly\, they are born of an openness that allows five unique creative personalities to unite in something far stronger and far bigger than the sum of its talented parts. It’s what makes ATREYU – frontman Brandon Saller\, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel\, and bassist/vocalist Porter McKnight – one of the most respected names and potent forces in heavy music\, and their live show one of the most heralded on the touring circuit. “We draw strength from each other and give each other the space and support to be the best\, most creative person we can be\,” Dan Jacobs explains. “And together\, right now\, that makes us the best band we’ve ever been.” He’s not wrong. With a 20-year career and eight acclaimed albums in the rear-view mirror\, ATREYU in 2023 are focused only on the present and the future\, and a mission to continue shaping and defining the rock and metal scene\, just as they have always done since their emergence from Huntington Beach in Southern California. It’s a journey that has seen them hit stages in the furthest corners of the globe on tour\, collect multiple Gold records\, amass over one billion streams and unite millions of fans through their social channels. And they’re only just getting started. Arriving at this point hasn’t been without growing pains expected of any decades’ long relationship. But ask the band and they will tell you that through adversity comes strength\, and that the journey has seen them arrive at a destination with sunnier climes than they could ever have imagined. “It has allowed us to reach a point where we finally feel like we found ourselves\,” is Jacobs’ summation. “Everything that we have put out to this point has built to this moment. Something special is happening with ATREYU right now. We can feel the creativity and collaboration when the five of us get in the studio. We can feel the confidence we all give each other when we stand onstage together. And we can see it in the audience when they’re losing their minds. They’re having as good a time as we are ourselves.” Where once the band were heralded as the early innovators of the nascent metalcore scene\, their place in heavy music’s diverse and boundary-breaking scene has never felt more relevant\, with inspirations of pop-punk\, hardcore\, thrash\, ‘80s rock and more melding into a unique and varied sound that has never felt more relevant than in today’s increasingly genreless world. “It feels like the world has been catching up with the diversity of influences and sounds that we’ve been putting into ATREYU for some time now\,” Saller says. “There are no limitations\, no barriers.” To that end\, new EP ‘The Hope Of A Spark’ embodies everything that ATREYU have come to be\, to mean\, to represent. The first new music from the band in 2023\, it marks the beginning of the next chapter in the band’s story\, and the tantalisingly promise of what the future holds. Each of its four tracks are assorted pieces of an expansive puzzle still taking shape\, form and focus. “These songs are the culmination of our entire artistic endeavours\,” McKnight attests. “It’s everything we’ve learned as humans\, everything we’ve ingested as musicians\, and everything we’ve experienced in this lifetime. It is ATREYU unleashed.” Produced by long-time collaborator John Feldmann\, the new release finds ATREYU reflecting and ruminating on the pressures\, pleasures and pains of modern life\, each track a snapshot of deeply personal lived and shared experiences with which listeners the world over will identify. Individually profound\, yet speaking to a wider meaning as a collected body of work\, these are universal truths which presented in song provide catharsis and comfort to its creators. “The overarching concept is essentially about the seasons of life\,” Brandon Saller explains. “Everyone goes through the same things\, the ups and downs of life. The emphasis really is the importance of at least respecting those\, and finding the positives and the lessons from even your lowest moments.” In that regard\, opening track “Drowning” could not be more apt. Capturing the feeling of being\, in Saller’s words\, “buried by life”\, the track was written as a collective effort into which all of the band pored their own experiences – be it familial health problems that Jacobs’ was shouldering\, Saller’s first encounters with feelings of anxiety\, or McKnight’s long-running fight with depression. Stark lyrics including “The clouds in my head always block out the sun\,” conjure intimate and varying feelings from each\, and create a track that could not be more timely in its relevance and importance\, standing as emblematic of the environment fostered both inside and around ATREYU. “As a writer\, it’s therapeutic to get our feelings out; music is the best way for us to express ourselves\,” Jacobs nods. “And I think that’s why it connects with people\, because they hear it and it’s therapeutic to them\, too.” ATREYU fans old and new are sure to find such catharsis throughout ‘The Hope Of A Spark’. “God/Devil” laments a loss of identity\, self and faith – a desperate cry for help from a higher power\, when our greatest power is one we need to find within. “Capital F” was inspired by Saller’s observations of the human plight he saw in his local community; an imploration\, as McKnight suggests\, that “we’ve all forgotten the point of this existence\, which is us ourselves and our loved ones”. “Watch Me Burn”\, meanwhile\, is the phoenix rising from life’s trial-by-fire – a call to arms to let renewed hope emerge from smouldering embers and ash. “To me it’s a song about being cleansed by fire\,” explains McKnight. “Whatever it is that’s bringing you down and holding you back\, burn it down. Use it\, learn from it\, move on and grow. That thing does not deserve you and you don’t deserve it.” “It’s very relatable to all of us individually\,” adds Saller\, who leads the track’s anthemic\, hooky chorus with a defiant cry of ‘Even when flames grow higher / I’ll be fighting till I’m dead.’ “But it’s also incredibly pertinent to the journey of this band.” Where that journey leads ATREYU next is thrillingly limitless. ‘The Hope Of A Spark’\, though\, is the open invitation for fans new and old to join them on the ride. And after all\, doesn’t knowing the final destination spoil the surprise? “ATREYU is a place for everyone\, us included\, to be open and to be themselves\,” Porter McKnight concludes. “When you are with us\, you are free. Have fun. Make friends. Create memories.” \n\n \n\nNorma Jean\nIf you pierce the skin and pull back the layers\, you inch closer to your essence. Norma Jean invite this level of intimately incisive immersion. An avalanche of jagged sonic hues\, off-kilter samples\, grunge- drenched guitars\, noise rock exorcisms\, hardcore screams\, and slashed-throat poetry encode the essence of the Georgia band on their ninth full-length offering\, Deathrattle Sing For Me [Solid State]. The group—Cory Brandan [vocals]\, Grayson Stewart [lead guitar]\, Clay Crenshaw [guitar]\, Matt Marquez [drums]\, Michael Palmquist [bass]\, and Matthew Putman [drums\, percussion\, songwriting]—plunge into unparalleled emotional depths\, as if their very existence depended upon the catharsis these 13 tracks promised… \n\n\n \n\nZero 9:36\nSiphoning precise raps through a battlefield of distorted guitars and glitchy hues\, Zero 9:36 holds up a mirror in his music and beckons reflection. The Philadelphia post-genre sonic insurgent\, singer\, creative\, and rapper rhymes with the force and fire of a prizefighter. After grinding under-the-radar for years and augmenting his signature style with frequent collaborator and producer No Love For The Middle Child\, he was signed as the flagship act of ATCO Records. Powered by highlights such as “Leave The Light On” and “WWYDF\,” the You Will Not Be Saved EP introduced him while generating 70 million-plus streams. On its heels\, he joined forces with grandson on “Again (Text Voter XX to 40649)” in addition to dropping the acoustic Barebones Vol. 1 EP in 2020. His EP …If You Don’t Save Yourself was released at the beginning of 2021 and instantly caught on. The single “Adrenaline” hit #1 on Mediabase’s Active Rock airplay chart and stands as the #2 most played at the format that year. Zero toured hard and continued releasing steady hits on an endless tour cycle. Tracks like “Stuck In My Ways”\, “Break Ft. Atreyu”\, and “I’m Not” caught listeners’ ears live and brought them into his world. Upon release\, Loudwire raved\, “‘I’m Not’ is a banger with Zero 9:36’s nimble lyrical flow playing out over tribal drums and a wall of guitars and electronic backing.” Zero’s latest releases “I Felt It All” and “The Fear” have become fan favorites and mainstays on stations like SiriusXM Octane. On September 6 2024\, Zero dropped his third EP None Of Us Are Getting Out released via a distribution partnership with OneRPM. Led by the heavily-played singles “I Felt It Al”’\, “Underneath”\, and “Kill Me” the EP represents Zero’s first release as an independent artist and was assembled over numerous sessions and collaborations with No Love For Middle Child\, Cody Quistad from Wage War\, Landon Tewers from The Plot In You\, and others. In his own words\, “A project that represents what these last few years have been like. Something special I made with my best friends\, and with the help of some artists and producers I’m truly inspired by.” Adapting to any setting\, Zero 9:36 has toured alongside Shinedown\, Neck Deep\, Three Days Grace\, Asking Alexandria\, Nothing More\, Bullet For My Valentine\, Wage War\, the Plot In You\, among others. His debut headline tour was the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. Zero has made festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville\, Louder Than Life\, Inkcarceration\, and many others. His collaborations are an eclectic list including Travis Barker and grandson. Hollywood Undead and Atreyu. The Warning and Scarlxrd. Zero 9:36 proudly occupies a lane of his own and in the process has amassed over 400 million streams across DSPs.

SUMMARY:Memphis May Fire: THE SHAPESHIFTER TOUR LEG 2 w/ Rain City Drive\, Nevertel\, If Not For Me
DESCRIPTION:Memphis May Fire is a sonic confessional\, confronting the brokenness so many feel\, and challenging that darkness with an aggressive call toward a hard-won victory. They have steadily amassed a strong catalog while bringing a high level of audience participation and engagement to festivals\, clubs\, and theaters all around the globe. \nThe band’s ambitious sixth record\, Broken\, is a bold declaration of resilience. It fashions music into a sharp sword\, dedicated to cutting free the bonds of self-doubt. Broken is both a perfect distillation of everything the band has achieved creatively\, with the group’s signature passion and diversity\, and a bold leap into the future. Singer Matty Mullins\, emboldened by a renewed purpose and the type of humility derived from personal struggles not dissimilar to the stories the band hears from their fans\, leads the charge against a backdrop of instantly memorable hooks and bottom-heavy crunch\, skillfully performed by guitarist/co-founder Kellen McGregor\, longtime bassist Cory Elder\, and drummer Jake Garland. Consistently journeying to connect with as many people as possible\, Memphis May Fire has toured with a diverse list of important rock and metal acts that includes Killswitch Engage\, Sleeping With Sirens\, Black Veil Brides\, Sevendust\, and Atreyu. \nThe unity of purpose is palpable at a Memphis May Fire show\, as both the audience and band share their life experiences\, their dreams and fears\, through the power of transcendent music. \n\n\n \n\nRain City Drive\nRAIN CITY DRIVE makes vibrant and dynamic alternative rock n’ roll\, with strong roots in the post-hardcore subculture and unapologetically ambitious swings into contemporary pop. Described by Distorted Sound Magazine as “a melody machine” and in Metal Hammer as “a band you need to hear\,” Rain City Drive builds a musical bridge between heavy riffs and soaring\, intimate\, earnest pop. Armed with arena-ready anthems ready-made for long drives\, workouts\, intimate clubs\, and massive festivals alike\, the Florida-based group built a reputation as an engaging live act. Nearly 700\,000 fans around the world listen to the band on Spotify each month. The songs “Talk to a Friend” and “Heavier\,” from their 2020 album To Better Days\, account for 40 million streams between them alone. “Cutting it Close” from their 2022 self-titled follow-up (released in a deluxe edition with bonus cuts in 2023) quickly cracked the Top 5 on SiriusXM radio’s Octane upon release. Rain City Drive warps the boundaries between post-hardcore and aggressive melody. On the adventurous Rain City Drive and beyond\, the group’s spirit of resilience connects with fans old and new\, resonating deeply with all who struggle and find the will to push forward. \n\n\n \n\nNevertel\nLeading with an emphasis on quality in everything they do\, Nevertel – Jeremy Michael (vocalist)\, Raul Lopez (rapper/guitarist/producer) and Alec Davis (guitarist) – have honed a distinctly modern genre-blending sound that fuses elements of hip-hop\, nu-metal and alternative rock. Touting influences from established acts such as Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon\, the group draws in listeners with riveting melodic choruses\, hip-hop infused verses and bombastic EDM-style breakdowns. \nEven before they were Nevertel\, they were just a bunch of childhood pals bonded by their shared love of music. “We’ve all been best friends since high school and have been in and out of bands together\,” Jeremy explains.  However\, as often happens with school-aged friendships\, they eventually drifted apart – until music intervened yet again. “It wasn’t until years later\, after seeing Linkin Park at the 2014 Carnivores Tour\, Raul called me and Alec about starting another band.” Though the trio is long past their high school days\, they still bond over the interests they shared as kids. “What brought us together was our love for music and video games. We would play video games to stay close and keep in contact about the band. Music and gaming have been instrumental to our growth and bond as brothers.” \nNow\, after two albums\, two EPs\, and a slew of singles out in the world\, Nevertel has racked up over 60 million global streams to date (and over 900K a week) while fostering an online community of over 600K social media followers. A testament of their dedication to their craft and commitment to their fans\, the band has performed at festivals like Welcome To Rockville\, seen radio support from SiriusXM and earned recognition across all major DSPs\, with a placement on Spotify’s All New Metal\, Kickass Metal\, and Hard Rock playlists. \n“Our mission is pretty simple: to make music that saves and inspires people to make great changes in their lives.” While they pour their hearts into their work\, at the core of it all\, they do it for the tight-knit group of childhood best friends they once were. “If we could inspire that same 13-year-old kid we once were to follow their dreams and chase their passions then I’d say our mission is being accomplished.” \n  \n  \n\n\n \n\nIf Not For Me\n\nIf Not For Me is a four piece metalcore outfit hailing from Harrisburg\, Pennsylvania. Composed of members ranging from all over the central PA music scene\, INFM delivers their own brand of catchy choruses\, driving riffs\, and hard-hitting breakdowns with an explosive live performance to match. If Not For Me has cemented themselves as a fan favorite staple in the emerging metalcore scene. \nFrom their very first shows\, If Not For Me quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy performances and passionate\, heavy music. They draw inspiration from a range of metalcore and post-hardcore influences\, including bands like August Burns Red\, Killswitch Engage\, and Bring Me the Horizon\, but also incorporate elements of pop and melodic rock into their sound. \nIf Not For Me continues to tour extensively and work on new music\, always striving to push themselves to new heights and connect with their fans on a deeper level. With their unyielding commitment to their craft and their explosive live shows\, they are poised to become one of metalcore’s brightest rising stars. The band has recently announced their signing with InVogue Records on June 2nd\, 2023 and showcase the next level of their artistic development with powerful new singles and an album slated to release in Spring of 2024. \nFFO: Bad Omens\, Until I Wake\, Bring Me The Horizon\, I Prevail\, Catch Your Breath \nMEMBERS: Patrick Glover\, Vocals Zac Allen\, Bass Hayden Calhoun\, Guitar Cody Frain\, Drums

SUMMARY:An Evening with the Mountain Goats
DESCRIPTION:There are Mountain Goats albums that emerge from historical deep dives\, vividly rendered autobiography\, liturgical exploration\, and modern anthropological study. Through This Fire Across From Peter Balkan came from a dream. In May 2023\, John Darnielle took to his phone in the middle of the night to document a title from somewhere in his subconscious. Because this is the Mountain Goats—a band known for avoiding the easy route\, always challenging themselves to push a step beyond—Darnielle not only decided to complete this mysterious project but also to deliver it as a full-on musical that stands as the most conceptually detailed and musically elaborate project in the band’s ever-expanding catalog. \n“I loved musicals when I was a kid\,” Darnielle explains\, “but I hadn’t really indulged in them that much until the last 7 years or so. And then we did Jenny From Thebes\, which I called a ‘fake musical’ a lot… But this one actually is going for it.” \nProduced by the Mountain Goats’ multi-instrumentalist Matt Douglas\, who also co-wrote several songs\, the record is embracing\, inviting\, and overflowing with melody and orchestration that extends far beyond the boundaries of their past work. “My approach is more arrangement-based\,” Douglas says of his role. “I’m trying to sculpt the shape of the songs with the layering of instruments that are suiting the song best… I am sometimes a bit of a maximalist with that stuff. Sometimes more is more!” \nDrawing on the cryptic phrasing of its title\, Through This Fire Across From Peter Balkan tells the story of a small crew shipwrecked on a desert island\, where three surviving members—an unnamed narrator\, Captain Peter Balkan\, and Adam—are plagued by diminishing resources and apocalyptic visions. “The first thing you learn is how strong you can be if you have to\,” Darnielle sings early in the album. “The next thing you learn is how cold it can get at night.” \nThese are tales of survival and desolation\, brutality and tenderness\, hard-earned wisdom and heaps of compassion\, novelistic detail and shouted\, wordless choruses that transcend language. In other words\, these are Mountain Goats songs\, further deepening a singular body of work now spanning over three decades. To match the conceptual heft of the narrative\, the band’s core members—John Darnielle\, Matt Douglas\, and drummer Jon Wurster—are accompanied by bassist Cameron Ralston and crucial appearances from Replacements legend Tommy Stinson\, harpist Mikaela Davis\, and musical theater royalty Lin-Manuel Miranda\, a longtime friend whose background vocals lend the songs an additional dramatic punch. \nFor all the new ground the Mountain Goats cover\, they still play to their strengths. There are belt-along anthems like “Armies of the Lord\,” whose stately slow-build seems designed to get hearts racing during their famed live show. There’s poignant storytelling like the hushed “Peru\,” whose pastoral imagery offers a rare moment of respite amid the destruction. For the diehards\, there are also crucial references to the band’s back catalog: The boombox-era deep cut “Lady From Shanghai” gets a belated sequel that will make you reconsider the stakes of its previous entry (and admire just how virtuosic this band has become). \nAs the story evolves from its opening overture—the first instrumental track to ever appear on a Mountain Goats album—the band guides us through the journey’s humble beginnings and the ensuing chaos\, disappearances\, and acceptance of fate. Occasionally\, the writing feels as formalist and poetic as Darnielle\, a National Book Award-nominated novelist\, has ever achieved: “Lightly row but this much I know/The first thing you learn will be the first thing to go\,” he sings in the brisk\, catchy “Cold at Night.” In “The Lady From Shanghai 2\,” the band sets a sophisticated groove that makes the ambition of its narrator feel precarious\, possibly doomed from the beginning. “When I was a young man I sought out the sky\,” he sings uneasily. Even within the record’s tight\, chronological frame\, Darnielle leaves space for interpretation\, questions that linger after the narrative is over. \n“That’s something that I like\,” he says. “Details that\, generally speaking\, only I will know about. So you try to let the music evoke that very personal thing without it being a confessional song.” \nWorking at Dreamland Recording Studios in Hudson\, New York\, the Mountain Goats have crafted a record that matches the emotional vulnerability of their previous career peaks while filling up a larger space than ever. The performances are so compelling that it may take a few listens to notice the surprising textures they weave in—synth\, pedal steel\, fretless bass—and the bold new chapter it marks in the band’s evolution. As he was writing\, Darnielle envisioned a stage set with a few key props—parts of the ship\, pieces of kelp—as each character delivered their songs in the forms of soliloquies. In the closing “Broken to Begin With\,” one such character surveys his surroundings\, not to lament his own bad fortune but to honor the fact that\, even for a moment\, this environment managed to shelter him at all. This may be like a bleak story to tell\, a common thread of Mountain Goats concept albums all the way back to 2002’s breakthrough Tallahassee. But it speaks to a vision shared by the narrator and\, increasingly\, the restlessly creative trio presenting his tale: “Nothing’s ever promised to anyone\,” Darnielle sings in “Fishing Boat.” “Everything you get is a gift.”

SUMMARY:GRATEFUL - New Year's Eve Show
DESCRIPTION:GRATEFUL is a Boise based tribute band paying respect to the legacy of the Grateful Dead. Each performance is arranged with the intent to capture the natural authenticity of the Grateful Dead’s live performance\, and “perfectly flawed” delivery in sound\, style\, and feel. No set list is the same\, and no song is played the same way twice. Each member of GRATEFUL recreate the persona of a band that meant so much to so many. \n\n\n\n\nARTIST DETAIL

SUMMARY:Faded Leroy & Friends
DESCRIPTION:Faded Leroy & Friends\n9th St. Parallel at Knitting Factory\n416 S 9th St – Boise\, ID 83702\nSatJanuary 37:00 pm(Doors: 6:30 pm)\nAll Ages\n$16.92Buy Tickets\n\n\nDELAYED DELIVERY: There is a ticket delivery delay in place for this event. Tickets will be emailed 48 hours prior to the event.\n\n+ Google Calendar\n\n\n\n\nArtists\n\n\nFaded Leroy\n\n \n\nBased out of Boise\, ID\, Faded Leroy formed in the summer of 2012. After performing in the Treasure Valley for over a decade with various bands\, and touring regionally together\, Brendan Nickel and Beau Kolar decided to rethink their approach to music. It wasn’t long before the ideas were flowing. “The writing all seemed very effortless\,” remembers Nickel. With Nickel on guitar and Kolar on drums\, they began developing those first sketches and soon had nearly an album’s worth of original material. Shortly thereafter\, Kolar and Nickel enlisted the help of Jeremy Cummings on vocals to assist them in further developing the tracks. They began recording “Days Between Stations” on December 21\, 2012 at the Tonic Room Studios in Boise with Jason Ringelstetter manning the controls. Erin Johnson spent a short time with the band on bass and recorded the bass tracks on “Days Between Stations”. In the summer of 2013\, the three met Brian Lewis and they hit it off immediately. With the addition of Lewis on bass the current lineup was solidified. The band released “Days Between Stations” on March 25\, 2014. With the album finished\, the band has shifted their focus to live performing. Although Faded Leroy is in its infancy\, the members are building on years of experience they gained playing in the region. Cummings is best known for his intense vocal stylings with Boise bands Sub*vert and Portrait of the Assassin. Kolar\, drummer for Boise rock band Abrupt Edge\, has a long-standing musical relationship with Nickel (both were members of Abrupt Edge\, Solar Roller\, and Uncle Bud). Kolar currently performs with Silverbridge and Cyan in addition to Faded Leroy. Nickel may be best known for his guitar work in earlier projects such as Organech\, and Matthew C. Vanderboegh’s “The Erinys” (where he first shared the stage with Cummings). Lewis fills out the low end\, dishes out tasty grooves\, and brings enthusiasm to the stage.\nTogether they have given birth to the legend of Faded Leroy\, a forgotten broadcaster in the not so distant  when civilization has fallen under the shadow of dark forces. All media and transmitters are under control. Alone and abandoned at a forgotten radio outpost\, Leroy works tirelessly to rebuild the station and equipment\, to broadcast himself across the airwaves and make contact with any surviving translators. As the darkest hour nears\, Leroy closes in on the outcome of what may be his most dangerous experiment yet…future

SUMMARY:Dozey Floyd
DESCRIPTION:Dozey Floyd is Boise’s exciting new project — a reggae-infused tribute to the sound\, spirit\, and psychedelic depth of Pink Floyd. Imagine the echoing guitars of “Wish You Were Here” layered over dub-drenched bass lines\, the gradual buildup of “Have A Cigar” reimagined with hypnotic grooves\, or the epic breakdown in “Money” enhanced by a full horn section! \nTheir upcoming performance at The Egyptian Theatre in downtown Boise is more than just a concert; it’s an experience. In the warmth of the theatre’s historic walls — an architectural gem since 1927\, adorned with gilded Egyptian details and known for its exceptional acoustics — you can expect more than faithful covers. Anticipate reinterpretation\, improvisation\, and musical collaboration.
