DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 15th annual SueB 5k  Memorial 5K\nContinuing to honor the memory of Susan “Sue B” Newby\, the 15th annual SueB 5K Fun Run will kick off on Sunday\, October 6\, 2024 at 12 noon at Julia Davis Park. \nRegister Now!\nThis event has always been about outreach and honoring the memory of Susan “Sue B ” Newby who died in 2008 during a mysterious horseback riding incident\, that was likely a domestic abuse incident.  After her death\, family and friends realized that SueB was likely in an abusive marriage. SueB’s sister\, Marj\, and friends\, Leslie and Teresa\, turned to the WCA as a way to honor SueB’s life and increase awareness about domestic abuse. Their hope is  to help other successful\, smart\, beautiful women like SueB leave these relationships before it’s too late. Read SueB’s story here. \n  \n100% of participant race fees support the WCA’s Endowment Fund to ensure our services and serve our clients for many years to come. Should we run the Greenbelt\, the river can be unpredictable. Systems and entities that govern the local Greenbelt are constantly dealing with these challenges. Typical issues are created due to sidewalk construction\, sinkholes\, flooding\, etc. During the run\, you may encounter wildlife that may cause a delay in your progress and/or change in your planned route. Or you may cause your own delay to stop and listen to the amazing sounds this course creates.
