SUMMARY:8th Annual Boise\, ID Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K
DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Sunday\, October 6\, 2024\, in celebration of Ostomy Awareness Day. We are excited to announce a NEW LOCATION for 2024. Join us at the beautiful Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park in Meridian\, Idaho. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America\, Inc (UOAA) charity\, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/) \n\nRACE DAY SCHEDULE \n\nPacket pick-up will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon\nThe run will start at Noon\nSponsors and vendors will be onsite from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM\n\n\n  \nDON’T DELAY\, REGISTER TODAY!\nThe Registration Fee of $29.00 includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. Please note there are a limited number of T-Shirt sizes now available. So don’t delay\, register today to order the T-Shirt size you’d like to wear at the event. \n\nRACE COURSE\nThis 5k Fun Run will be held at the Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park\, Shelter A at 1900 N Records Ave in Meridian. \nThe exact route map will be included in your registration packets and posted in the registration area. \nThe Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park is a 58-acre regional park established in 2012. The park was a gift to the City of Meridian in honor of the man who once farmed the land on which the park is now located. The park includes many amenities such as an Amphitheatre\, Basketball\, Bike Racks\, Bocce Ball\, Community Garden and Pollinator Garden\, Concession Stand\, Drinking Fountains\, a Labyrinth\, Public Art\, Playgrounds\, Stocked Fishing Ponds and an Accessible Fishing Dock\, Restrooms\, and many more! \n\nPARKING\nThere is ample free parking available. \n\nPACKET PICKUP\nTBD \n\nPRIZES\nPrizes will be awarded to the top Male and top Female\, the top Male and Female Ostomates. \n\nOPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH\nRace registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items\, ostomy education materials\, and most importantly an ostomy pouch provided by our sponsors. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies. \n\nCREATE OR JOIN A RACE GROUP/TEAM! \nOnce you’ve registered you have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other. Invite family\, friends\, co-workers to Register\, pick to be on your Race Group/Team (or start their own)\, order their T-Shirt & Bib and celebrate the day with you!
