SUMMARY:Kick for Kenya and Clean Water 5k
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Saturday morning\, May 23\, for the 2026 Kick for Kenya 5K! \nRun or walk for a cause – proceeds will be used to fund planning and execution of community development training and projects in rural southeastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit)\, the Touch Africa Child Education Project (TACEP\, a Kenyan NGO)\, and other local Kenyan community partners. Funds raised will be invested where needed most\, in particular to provide educational opportunities\, improve public health\, and address food and water insecurity. Our Kenyan partners’ long-term vision includes construction and development of a community center with dedicated space for field staff offices\, tutoring and counseling services\, animal husbandry and agricultural demonstration plots\, and hosting speakers/conferences for educational instruction and vocational training\, as well as on-site housing for children or families in need and short-term international visitors. \nRace Notes:\n\n\nRegistration\, Entry Fees\, and Donations\n\nEarly bird pricing is $35 per entrant registered by April 15.\n\nNote that all but the first $10 of the entry fee (which goes to cover race costs) is considered tax deductible.\n\n\nEntry fee goes up to $40 on April 16 (the cost to provide a K-8 child in Kenya with education for a month) and $45 (cost to provide day high school for a child in Kenya) the week of the race (Monday\, May 18\, through raceday morning).\nAdditional donations (any amount) also welcome.\nAlthough race day registration will be available\, pre-registration is highly encouraged so we can start on time and ensure we have sufficient bib numbers\, timing chips\, and post-race food for everyone!\n\n\n\nPacket Pickup and Parking\n\nPre-race packet pickup will be available at two times and locations:\n\nEastwind Community Church lobby (4750 S Surprise Way\, Boise\, ID  83716) before and after the 9 AM\, 10:30 AM\, and Noon services (~8:30 AM – 1:30 PM) on Sunday\, May 17\nFleet Feet Treasure Valley’s Meridian location in The Village (3573 E. SUMMARY:Treasure Valley Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:One of the most exciting and inclusive athletic events in the Treasure Valley is back for another year. The 2026 Treasure Valley Triathlon takes place Saturday\, June 6 at Esther Simplot Park in Boise — a circuit-style event held on a closed\, flat course along the scenic Boise River. Organized by the Treasure Valley Family YMCA\, this USAT sanctioned race is a celebration of inclusivity and community\, with all proceeds going to support adaptive sports across southern Idaho. \nWhether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned competitor\, there’s a race distance for you. Events include Super Sprint\, Sprint\, Olympic\, relay divisions\, adaptive categories\, and a Youth Splash and Dash — making this one of the most accessible triathlons in the region. The event also serves as Idaho’s state finals for high school and age-group athletes\, with paths to state championships and national qualifications — and roughly 35% of participants qualify for Nationals. \nAdaptive athletes compete free of charge\, and registration is capped at 400 participants to ensure a quality experience for every athlete and spectator. Spectators are warmly welcome\, so bring your family and come cheer on the Treasure Valley’s best athletes on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Boise River.

The action kicks off at 11:00 AM with the fan-favorite Kids’ Ride starting in front of the Idaho State Capitol\, followed by junior\, amateur\, and masters races throughout the afternoon. The ICCU Fan Expo opens at 1:00 PM with a regional beverage garden\, vendors\, food trucks\, activities\, and prime views of the course. There’s even a one-mile fun run on the course benefiting Girls on the Run before the evening’s Opening Ceremony. DESCRIPTION:Ready! Set! Participate! in the Nampa Recreation Department’s Kids Triathlon! This fun and challenging event is for kids ages 6-13 and will include swimming\, biking and running. The 3-event race not only promotes fitness but improves your child’s self confidence as they cross the finish line on their own. A great introduction to the sport\, participants will swim in Lincoln Pool followed by a safe bike and run on roads and grounds of Lions Park. All participants will receive an event bag and all finishers will receive a t-shirt. The transition areas will be in the parking lots and we strongly encourage friends and family to come cheer on these young competitors. All participants must wear a helmet for the bike portion of the triathlon and supply their own bike.

SUMMARY:Geology Hike | Eagle Rock
DESCRIPTION:Join IMMG\, Eliza Schulz\, on a .5 mile geology hike to Eagle Rock and learn about the earth below your feet. \n\n\n\n\nEliza Schulz will meet hikers at 7:45am within steps of the IMMG in the Old Pen dirt parking lot near the Ridge to Rivers trail sign. She will lead you up the hillside at a relaxed pace. At various points she will talk about the features of the hillside\, the type of rocks\, how the hills were formed\, what produced the Treasure Valley below and more. \nThe geo-hike is appropriate for children and adults who can walk/hike for up to 2 hours. Because of summer heat\, the hike will end by 10:00am. \nPlease wear comfortable walking shoes\, wear a sun hat\, bring your own water and dress for the weather. Eliza will be at the trailhead by 7:45am and she’ll leave with hikers at 8:00am.
