Get It Dunn became both a support system and a fundraising effort to help Amy receive and get through the treatment she needed. Just as importantly\, and all too fittingly\, Get It Dunn was also a mantra for Amy’s “give it all you’ve got” approach to living life. She gave her best and demanded the best from others. She got it done. \nToday\, we strive to embody the spirit of Getting It Dunn in our daily lives to honor and remember Amy. Since her passing\, Amy’s family and friends continue to Get It Dunn by promoting melanoma awareness and sun safety – primarily through our annual fun run\, Run for Dunn. \nABOUT THE RUN – JUNE 4\, 2023 @ 10:30AM\nRun for Dunn is a fun\, all ages\, all abilities\, 3-mile run/walk. As part of our sun safety mission\, we have developed a partnership with local dermatologists and St. Luke’s MSTI to offer free skin cancer screenings to all registered participants of Run for Dunn. \nAll participants receive free access to skin screenings\, a Run for Dunn t-shirt\, and a BBQ burger/hot dog lunch. \nSTART AND FINISH\nThe course will follow the Boise Greenbelt and will start and finish at Julia Davis Park – Boise Pavilion. Limited parking will be available at Julia Davis. Please consider alternate transportation or carpooling for this event. DESCRIPTION:The Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Race\nThe Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Race is open to kids ages 6 to 14 of ALL abilities. The one-mile course starts at the Historic Boise Train Depot and ends at the State Capitol\, with a Finish Fair in Cecil D. Andrus Park. Everyone is a winner and receives a medal and a t-shirt. \nWe are excited to announce that the Treasure Valley Family YMCA and Saint Alphonsus have teamed up to put on this beloved event. Our organizations’ missions are closely aligned\, and we are eager to work together to improve the health of our community – especially our youth. \nPacket Pick-Up:\nThursday\, June 1 from noon – 7:00pm at Big Al’s (1900 N Eagle Rd.\, Meridian). Racers are required to pick up their race information in advance. At that first race\, held on September 2\, 1983\, 1\,000 children ran from the State Capitol Building to the Union Pacific Depot. Through the efforts of Dr. Michael and Kirsten Coughlin\, Saint Alphonsus became involved with supporting the race in 1987. The race date was changed to the end of the school year and has continued as a tradition for many Treasure Valley families.

SUMMARY:Healthy Kids Running Series Spring 2023
DESCRIPTION:Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes\, the 1/4 mile\, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids compete each week for a chance to earn points. At the end of the Series the boys and girls who accumulate the most points in their respective distances are awarded trophies. All participants receive a medal on Week 5! \nThe registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week\, a runner shirt\, a finisher medal\, sponsor giveaways when available\, and trophies for top place finishers. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Online Early Bird registration is $40.00 and then increases to $45.00 three weeks prior to the first race event.

At the Pulse Endurance Runs\, you can enjoy nature while running on a beautiful flat dirt trail 2 1/2 mile loop bordering the Boise River and Eagle Island pond. This is a great course to get your first ultra\, anywhere from a 50K to 100 miles and beyond! \nThe Race\nThe Pulse Endurance Runs are a beautiful and flat fixed-time race held at Eagle Island State Park\, 8 miles west of Boise\, Idaho. Test yourself against the clock and some of the northwest’s top timed event runners at Idaho’s premier timed race on a flat\, dirt trail. Set a goal and achieve it\, running as many miles as you can in 48\, 24\, 12\, or 6 hours. Or\, sign up for the 100 mile fixed-distance option!\nCome for fun\, or come for speed….just bring your smiles!\nNo refunds will be provided\, including in the event of a cancellation outside of the organizers control.\nYOU MUST BE REGISTERED BY MARCH 1st TO BE GUARANTEED FINISHERS SCHWAG \nRace Times\nWe have a lot of event options. There is a spot on the form for volunteers to pick their own time frame. Thank you! \nPacket Pickup\nPacket pickup will be at The Pulse Running and Fitness Shop on Tuesday and Wednesday Mar 14th & 15th from 11-6pm. After that all packets can be picked up at Eagle Island Park under the shelter starting 1 hour prior to your race start. \nCrews\, Aid\, Facilities\nCrew & Personal Aid: Runners may have crew support every lap. There is an area directly adjacent to the course with space for tents or canopies for personal aid stations. Your crew is only allowed to crew you in the designated area at the Start/Finish area.\nParking: Enough parking directly adjacent to the course with easy access from the course to your car any time.\nPark Entry Fee: The park entry fee for one car is included in your race entry fee. Any other family members or spectators in additional cars will need to pay the State Park fee of $5.\nFood and Aid: The official race aid station will be available every 2.5 miles as you finish each lap. We will have a wide range of typical ultra food\, and we are open to your suggestions and food requests.\nWarming Tent: If Covid precautions allow there will be a warming/sleeping tent set up next to the Aid Station. Feel free to bring a cot\, sleeping bag and blankets as you feel is needed. You may set up your own aid station in here if so desired. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO USE THIS TENT. NO ONE HAS NEEDED IT THE LAST FEW YEARS AND IT’S VERY EXPENSIVE TO RENT SO I WON’T BE RENTING IT IF NO ONE NEEDS IT.\nFor those running at night make sure to bring extra clothes\, it can get pretty cold and windy so extra layers may be needed. Also don’t forget to bring extra batteries for your headlamp. Even though we are inside a state park there isn’t any lighting on the backside of the course so you will need to use your headlamp. \nAwards\nThe nice thing about a timed event is that there are no DNFs (unless you sign up for 100 miles and don’t complete 100 miles)\nOverall winners (top 3) for each race will be awarded \nPacers\nPacers (which is anyone who is a non racer who is on the course with you)\, will be allowed when you are 1/2 through your race. For example\, if you are a running the 48HR you can have a pacer at 24 hours in\, if you’re running the 12HR\, you can have a pacer at 6 hours in.  I encourage you to have a pacer to help make your race more enjoyable\, but please follow the Pacer rules so the race is fair for everyone.  You do not want your pacer to cause a DNF for you.
