DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Saturday morning\, May 24\, for the 2025 Kick for Kenya and Clean Water 5K! \nRun or walk for a cause – proceeds will be used to help fund community development activities (e.g.\, planning\, training\, and execution of projects) in rural eastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit)\, the Touch Africa Child Education Programme (TACEP\, a Kenyan NGO)\, and other local Kenyan community partners. Funds raised will be invested where needed most\, in particular to provide educational opportunities\, improve public health\, and address the compounded effects of several consecutive years of extreme weather that has led to food and water insecurity throughout the region. Vanna Health works with community partners to help people with serious mental illness in their recovery. \nHe is the author of the book Healing: Our Path from Mental Illness to Mental Health\, published by Penguin Random House. With journalist co-founders\, he recently launched MindSite News (mindsitenews.org)\, a non-profit digital publication focused on mental health issues. Dr. Insel is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and has received numerous national and international awards\, including honorary degrees in the U.S. and Europe.
