SUMMARY:2025 Summer Bam Jam
DESCRIPTION:The Summer BAM Jam Basketball Tournament Returns August 1-3\, 2025\nPresented by Idaho Central Credit Union \nLocated indoors at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell\, ID \n\nTo get future updates\, sign up for our email list here. info.bamjamboise.com/email \nYouth teams and high school teams will compete on Friday evening and during the day on Saturday. No games will begin before 5:00 PM on Friday. \nAdult teams will compete on Saturday and Sunday. Final games should be done around 3:00 PM. \nFrequently Asked Questions\nAre the games officiated?\nYes! Every court will have a paid official. \nHow many players on a team?\nRosters allow for 5 players per team. \nCan I compete on more than one team?\nYes\, but ONLY if the teams are not in the same division. For example\, a player CAN compete in both the recreational division and the competitive division. However\, a player CANNOT be on two teams that are both in the competitive division. Players found competing on more than one team in a division will be removed from the tournament and the games they played in will be forfeited. \n*NOTE: if you play on more than one team\, your games may be at the same time. We DO NOT take schedule requests so you will need to make arrangements prior to your game.  \nWhat divisions are available?\nYouth divisions are separated by age and competition level. So it is pretty simple\, players need to be under a certain age during the tournament to be eligible. The level they want to compete at is up to each team. \nAdult divisions are based on height and competition level. Men’s 6’0 Over and Under with options for OPEN (the best teams)\, Competitive (middle level teams)\, or Recreational (teams that just want to have fun). Women have an OPEN and Competitive option. And each summer we do offer a Co-ed division. \nThe OPEN division is the top division and will feature the best teams in the northwest. \nTo learn more\, visit our Tournament Information page here. \nHow do I register?\nEach team will need a designated “coach”. This isn’t really a coach but the main point of contact for your team (Exposure won’t let us change the wording). They are also in charge of ensuring that each player on the roster meets the division’s eligibility requirements. \nSimply create an account (or login with an account you may have used in the past) and fill in your team’s information. Also please select Male or Female for gender unless you are playing in the adult co-ed division. There are NOT youth co-ed teams. But again\, Exposure won’t let us remove it. \nYou will need information for at least 3 of your players to register. You can change your roster later after you have registered by logging in and updated through the system. There is no charge for player changes as long you make them yourself. If you need us to make a roster change\, there is a $20 fee. \nWhat is the deadline?\nThe normal registration deadline is generally 2-3 weeks before the tournament. Check the registration page for specifics. If you complete your registration (signed up AND paid) then you are in. \nIf you wait until after the deadline\, you are taking your chances\, as spots will only be filled where available and with a $30 late fee.

SUMMARY:Dinosaur Jr. + Snail Mail
DESCRIPTION:Dinosaur Jr. was founded in 1984 and the group emerged among the most highly regarded in alternative rock. By reintroducing volume and attack in his songs\, Mascis shed the strict limitations of early 1980s hardcore\, becoming an influence on the burgeoning grunge movement. Mascis’ body of work continues to inspire a generation of guitar players and songwriters today. \nWhen the original line up of Mascis\, Lou Barlow on bass and drummer Murph re-formed in 2005 for select live dates it was apparent that the years apart had not eroded any of their vitality. Restoring the sound established by the opening hat-trick gambit of Dinosaur\, You’re Living All Over Me\, and Bug\, 2007’s Beyond continued the band’s march into rock greatness by making old ears smile and new ears bleed afresh. The original lineup has now released five studio albums since their reunion\, most recently 2021’s “Sweep It Into Space” on Jagjaguwar Records. \n\n \n\nSnail Mail\nOn her 2018 debut album Lush\, seventeen-year-old Lindsey Jordan sang “I’m in full control / I’m not lost / Even when it’s love / Even when it’s not”. Her natural ability to be many things at once resonated with a lot of people. The contradiction of confidence and vulnerability\, power and delicacy\, had the impact of a wrecking ball when put to tape. It was an impressive and unequivocal career-making moment for Jordan. \nOn Valentine\, her sophomore album out November 5th on Matador\, Lindsey solidifies and defines this trajectory in a blaze of glory. In 10 songs\, written over 2019-2020 by Jordan alone\, we are taken on an adrenalizing odyssey of genuine originality in an era in which “indie” music has been reduced to gentle\, homogenous pop composed mostly by ghost writers. Made with careful precision\, Valentine shows an artist who has chosen to take her time. The reference points are broad and psychically stirring\, while the lyrics build masterfully on the foundation set by Jordan’s first record to deliver a deeper understanding of heartbreak. \nOn “Ben Franklin”\, the second single of the album\, Jordan sings “Moved on\, but nothing feels true / Sometimes I hate her just for not being you / Post rehab I’ve been feeling so small / I miss your attention\, I wish I could call”. It’s here that she mourns a lost love\, conceding the true nature of a fleeting romantic tie-up and ultimately\, referencing a stay in a recovery facility in Arizona. This 45-day interlude followed issues stemming from a young life colliding with sudden fame and success. Since she was not allowed to bring her instruments or recording equipment\, Jordan began tabulating the new album arrangements on paper solely out of memory and imagination. It was after this choice to take radical action that Valentine really took its unique shape. \nJordan took her newfound sense of clarity and calm to Durham\, North Carolina\, along with the bones of a new album. Here she worked with Brad Cook (Bon Iver\, Waxahatchee). For all the album’s vastness and gravity\, it was in this small home studio that Jordan and Cook chipped away over the winter of early 2021 at co-producing a dynamic collection of genre-melding new songs\, finishing it triumphantly in the spring. They were assisted by longtime bandmates Ray Brown and Alex Bass\, as well as engineer Alex Farrar\, with a live string section added later at Spacebomb Studios in Richmond. \nLeaning more heavily into samples and synthesizers\, the album hinges on a handful of remarkably untraditional pop songs. The first few seconds of opener and title track ‘Valentine’ see whispered voice and eerie sci-fi synth erupt into a stadium-sized\, endorphin-rush of a chorus that is an overwhelming statement of intent. “Ben Franklin”\, “Forever (Sailing)” and “Madonna” take imaginative routes to the highest peaks of catchiness. Jordan has always sung with a depth of intensity and conviction\, and the climactic pop moments on Valentine are delivered with such a tenet and a darkness and a beauty that’s noisy and guttural\, taking on the singularity that usually comes from a veteran artist. \nAs captivating as the synth-driven songs are\, it’s the more delicate moments like “Light Blue”\, “c.et. al.” and “Mia” that distill the albums range and depth. “Baby blue\, I’m so behind / Can’t make sense of the faces in and out of my life / Whirling above our daily routines / Both buried in problems\, baby\, honestly” Jordan sings on “c. et. al.” with a devastating certainty. These more ethereal\, dextrously finger-picked folk songs peppered in throughout the album are nuanced in their vocal delivery and confident in their intricate arrangement. They come in like a breath of air\, a moment to let the mind wander\, but quickly drown the listener in their melodic alchemy and lyrical punch. \nThe album is rounded out radiantly by guitar-driven rock songs like “Automate”\, “Glory” and “Headlock”. Reminiscent of Lush but with a marked tonal shift\, Jordan again shows her prowess as a guitar player with chorus-y leads and rhythmic\, wall-of-sound riffs. “Headlock” highlights this pivot with high-pitched dissonance and celestially affected lead parts – “Can’t go out I’m tethered to / Another world where we’re together / Are you lost in it too?”\, she sings with grit and fatigue\, building so poignantly on her sturdy foundation of out-and-out melancholy. On Valentine\, we are taken 100 miles deeper into the world Jordan created with Lush\, led through passageways and around dark corners\, landing somewhere we never dreamed existed. \nToday\, in the wake of recording Valentine\, Jordan is focused on trying to continue healing without slowing down. The album comes in the midst of so much growth\, in the fertile soil of a harrowing bottom-out. On the heels of life-altering success\, a painful breakup and 6 weeks in treatment\, Jordan appears vibrant and sharp. “Mia\, don’t cry / I love you forever / But I gotta grow up now / No I can’t keep holding onto you anymore” she sings on the album closer “Mia”. She sings softly but her voice cuts through like a hacksaw. The song is lamenting a lost love\, saying a somber goodbye\, and it closes the door on a bitter cold season for Jordan. Leaving room for a long and storied path\, Valentine is somehow a jolt and a lovebuzz all at once. \n– Katie Crutchfield \n\n\n \n\nEasy Action\nEasy Action is a Detroit rock band comprised of seasoned musicians\, each with an impressive musical legacy. The current lineup includes John Brannon on lead vocals\, Harold Richardson on guitar\, Ron Sakowski on bass guitar\, and John Lehl on drums. \nJohn Brannon\, the lead vocalist\, is a legendary figure in the Detroit music scene\, known for his intense vocals and uncompromising stage presence. With a rich musical heritage from Detroit\, Brannon gained prominence as the frontman for influential bands like Negative Approach and Laughing Hyenas\, leaving an indelible mark on punk and rock genres. \nNegative Approach\, formed in 1981\, showcased Brannon’s raw energy and confrontational lyrics\, becoming a cornerstone of the hardcore punk scene. After Negative Approach\, Brannon fronted Laughing Hyenas\, exploring bluesy\, post-punk sounds and earning critical acclaim. \nIn 1996\, John Brannon and the Harold formed Easy Action at the Performance Center in Ann Arbor\, joined by Ron Sakowski. Easy Action relocated to Detroit in 1997. Over the years\, Easy Action underwent various lineup changes\, with the current formation solidifying in 2016. \nNotably\, Easy Action and Negative Approach share the same members\, creating a unique synergy. Harold Richardson who previously played in the 90s experimental noise rock band Gravitar\, has been a performing member of Negative Approach since 2006. Ron Sakowski also has been preforming with Negative Approach since 2006 and rejoined Easy Action in 2016. His history with bands Necros\, Laughing Hyenas is impressive. John Lehl\, who joined Easy Action in 2016\, brings his own extensive musical background to the mix. Prior to Easy Action\, he played drums in Chapstik\, Tesco Vee’s Hate Police\, and the Meatmen. Lehl has also been a performing member of Negative Approach since 2013\, further solidifying the musical connections within this tight-knit group

SUMMARY:flipturn - The Burnout Days Tour w/ Sun Room
DESCRIPTION:flipturn\, Burnout Days \nFor flipturn\, success didn’t arrive overnight. It grew steadily with every show\, from college house shows at the University of Florida to sold-out venues across the entire country\, earning the band an international reputation as an indie rock powerhouse. By the time flipturn released their debut album\, Shadowglow\, in 2022\, they’d become genuine road warriors while still in their mid-20s\, growing their audience with festival appearances (including acclaimed sets at Bonnaroo\, Lollapalooza\, and Governor’s Ball)\, shows alongside Two Door Cinema Club\, The Revivalists\, Mt. Joy\, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise\, and national recognition from Jimmy Kimmel Live\, ABC News\, and The Washington Post Shadowglow was the culmination of years of hard work for bandmates Dillon Basse\, Tristan Duncan\, Mitch Fountain\, Madeline Jarman\, and Devon VonBalson. The album rapidly expanded their fanbase\, along with shows at bucket-list venues like Brooklyn Steel in New York City\, the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C.\, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. Even so\, that didn’t make it any easier to be gone from home for two straight years. “We grinded the hell out of Shadowglow\, and the pace was nonstop\,” says frontman Basse. “The album’s success allowed us to get in front of a lot more people and play a lot more shows…but we weren’t necessarily thinking about the mental repercussions of being gone so often.”\nSomewhere along the way\, flipturn began gathering inspiration for a new album — one that measured the distance between endurance and exhaustion\, between dreams and reality\, between outward appearances and internal struggles. To do so\, they left town once again\, writing songs in a cabin tucked away in the North Carolina mountains before recording them in the South Texas borderlands. The result is Burnout Days\, the most collaborative and cathartic release of flipturn’s career.\n“We wanted to create an immersive world\,” says guitarist and synthesizer player Mitch Fountain. “We were really intentional with the sounds we wanted for each song\, and we paid attention to every single detail.”\nThose details spring to vivid life with tracks like “Juno\,” whose opening riff — a stuttering keyboard sound that wouldn’t sound out of place on a house record — was created when Fountain accidentally knocked his JU-06A synth off its stand. “It smacked the floor and created a really unique patch — one that Mitch couldn’t even figure out how to recreate at first — which inspired the entire song\,” remembers drummer Devon VonBalson. Caught halfway between 21st century indie rock and New Wave-inspired nostalgia\, “Juno” helps introduce Burnout Days’ mix of ethereal\, airy atmosphere and raw\, rhythmic moments. It’s a sound that’s always in motion\, never remaining in one place for too long — just like flipturn itself. If Shadowglow highlighted flipturn’s strength as songwriters\, then Burnout Days expands the spotlight to showcase the five musicians as sonic architects\, too. Working with producer Chad Copelin (Colony House\, Sasha Alex Sloan\, Wilderado)\, they took inspiration from the world around them: the lush nature surrounding their home in Jacksonville; the pecan trees and\ndesert landscape of Sonic Ranch outside El Paso\, Texas\, where they recorded the majority of Burnout Days; and even their own live show\, purposely crafting moments on the album that would come alive onstage. “There was one day in the studio where we looped the opening riff of the same song 100 times\, just to get it perfect\,” VonBalson remembers. “Going into this album\, we wanted to make sure we were creating a unique atmosphere. It was really fun approaching these songs from a production-minded standpoint\, while still keeping the feel of a band.”\nThat meticulousness and maturity is present through the record. “We’ve been writing more songs that have grit and bite\,” explains Jarman\, who began playing bass after watching a Silversun Pickups concert during her final year of middle school. “We’re not afraid to be vulnerable. We still love making fun\, upbeat tracks that you can dance to\, but we think it’s just as important to write songs that lead to introspection and the complex emotions we may experience as young adults.” Appropriately\, “Rodeo Clown” is an alt-pop anthem about the weight of everyday expectations and the lure of escapism\, punctuated with MDMA references\, gauzy synths\, and a groove built for dance floors. During “Sunlight” — which Basse began writing after watching his little sister take their mother (a Celtic folksinger who introduced her children to live music at a young age) to rehab — the bandmates build their way toward a grungy finish\, matching the vulnerability of Basse’s lyrics with an angsty swirl of distorted guitars and crashing cymbals. “Tides” even uses the waterfront imagery of Jacksonville — particularly the band’s communal home on the St. John’s River\, where manatees\, dolphins\, and alligators have been known to swim past the dock — as a metaphor for the changing tides in one’s own life. “We’ve been touring and working together for years\, learning to balance our work life with our personal lives\,” Jarman adds. “Being at home reminds us how to stay grounded and slow down. More than anything we’ve ever written before\, this record is partially inspired by nature in our home state of Florida: cicadas\, rivers\, sunlight\, dragonflies\, and butterflies.”\nThose years on the road together — the countless hours spent in vans\, green rooms\, and onstage\, navigating the twists and turns of not just the music industry\, but of day-to-day life in one’s mid-20s\, as well — made the creation process easier\, with all five members contributing to Burnout Days equally. They combined their influences into a unique sound that defied genre\, using indie rock as a launchpad for something deeper\, darker\, and more diverse. They wrote songs about the challenges faced by their generation: self-esteem\, addiction\, codependency\, and the need to push forward at all costs. And together\, they found the beauty that exists even in times of burnout.\n“Everyone can feel like this; it’s not just musicians\,” Basse says. “Burnouts can happen whenever you’re so passionate about something that you throw yourself into it one hundred percent. That can happen whenever you push yourself too hard\, and this record is about being OK with it\, and finding ways to cope with it. We love what we do. These songs are stories about the side effects.” \n\n \n\nSun Room\n\nRock & roll band from Southern California
