SUMMARY:Jesse Welles - Under The Powerlines 2026 w/ S.G. Goodman
DESCRIPTION:Jesse Welles unassumingly upholds and continues the tradition of traveling troubadours\, relaying the news\, putting pain into words\, and healing with a little humor. Fearless\, he reports from the frontlines of a divided country on the brink\, addressing inequalities and injustices\, cutting through all bullshit and driving directly to the source of the matter. His songs leave the same mark in front of a sold-out club as they do under the unbiased eye of a smartphone camera as he strums his guitar alone in the wilderness of Arkansas. Following tens of millions of streams and a groundswell of acclaim from Rolling Stone\, the New York Times\, and more\, the singer\, songwriter\, and guitar player cuts deep on his 2025 full-length album Middle. “Breathe to write\, write to breathe\,” he says. “Humans are meant to create\, so I’m gonna create music and keep releasing it constantly.” \nJesse calls Ozark\, AR home. Growing up\, his father worked as a mechanic\, and his mom a school teacher. Early on\, his grandpa copied The Beatles’ White Album and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for Jesse. At 12-years-old\, he finally scrounged up enough to dough for a “$56 first act guitar from Walmart.” It became like another limb. He fed his obsession by checking CDs out of the public library and ripping them to the family computer\, embracing classics from Bob Dylan\, Joni Mitchell\, Joan Baez\, and Woody Guthrie. \nRelocating to Nashville\, he launched his eponymous band Welles\, releasing music and touring incessantly. He logged 280 shows in a year\, canvassing North America and Europe alongside the likes of Royal Blood\, Highly Suspect\, Greta Van Fleet\, and Dead Sara. Dropped from his old label (mid-Pandemic)\, he quit a job at a vegan meat manufacturer and returned to Arkansas. In February 2024\, life changed again when dad suffered a heart attack. Sitting in his father’s hospital room with a Woody Guthrie biography on his lap\, Jesse realized what he needed to do. \nHe walked into the Ozarks\, placed his phone on a tripod\, sang right to it\, and posted the performance. The ensuing series of videos made a seismic impact online. He impressively attracted over 1 million followers on Instagram by performing tunes like “Cancer\,” “Fentanyl\,” and “War Isn’t Murder” out in the cold. On a creative tear\, he served up two full-length albums\, Hells Welles and Patchwork\, and sold out successive headline tours. Capping off 2024\, he railed against the corruption of the healthcare system in the powerful polemic “United Health\,” which Rolling Stone hailed as “a John Prine-like ballad.” \nNow\, Jesse turns the page on another chapter with his new album Middle and its first single “Horses.” “It’s a pro-love song\,” he notes. “Fear leads to hate. Hate leads to all kinds of atrocities. You build up walls. If you love everyone\, it’s a lot easier on you—and everybody else too. Hate is a whip for the mule. Nobody gets nutrition from it.”  \n“If my music helps you believe you can make art and tell the world how you feel\, there would be nothing better\,” he leaves off. “I hope you get those paints out of the garage or fill up your journal. Turn on your phone and say what you gotta to say. There’s so much wild stuff in my head. I want to see where it can go.” \n  \n\n \n\nS.G. Goodman\nS.G. Goodman returns from the Western Kentucky bottomland with her latest full-length album\, Planting by the Signs\, Available June 20\, 2025 on her very own Slough Water Records via Thirty Tigers. Composed of songs inspired by love\, loss\, reconciliation\, and the aforementioned ancient practice. Eleven tracks highlighted by the critically-acclaimed and award-winning artist’s singular voice and her penchant for juxtaposing vulnerable folk music with punchy rock ‘n roll\, replete with chiming guitars\, ethereal atmospherics\, and her DIY ethos. Goodman provides a timely reminder that the only way forward is together\, and that we must always take into account humanity’s dependence on and responsibility to the natural world. \nBack in the early hours of 2023\, Goodman told her late friend Mike Harmon and his wife Therese that she wanted to base her next album around the concept of planting by the signs\, which she had heard about growing up\, and recently rediscovered while reading a volume of Foxfire. She remembered general points from her rural southern childhood – how planting a garden\, or weaning a baby\, or getting a haircut are best timed in accordance with the cycle of the moon. A concept diametrically opposed to the tech-obsessed\, profit margin-driven mania swirling around her. Through exploring themes related to planting by the signs\, Goodman hoped to help herself and others reconcile this jarring disconnect\, as well to pass along the story of the practice to her nieces and nephews – the latter being a role she took very seriously. \nBut it wasn’t an easy path to writing Planting by the Signs or to the recording studio. 2023 saw the passing of her beloved dog\, Howard\, as well as the tragic death of Harmon\, a father figure and mentor. Mike was mentioned in Goodman’s song\, “Red Bird Morning” on Old Time Feeling\, her debut. Her band used to practice in the quonset hut behind his house. He would check on her house while she toured. Often\, Goodman would call him for advice from the road. A few days before he died\, he advised her about putting chains on her van during a snow storm. He once drove that same van from Boston to Chicago so the band could play a one-off in the middle of a tour. He was a rock for Goodman\, and a rock star in his own right. \nHarmon’s death led to Goodman reconciling with her longtime collaborator and guitarist\, Matthew Rowan\, who had become estranged from her following a year of grueling live shows in 2021. Rowan and Goodman had met in their early 20s while at college in the Murray\, KY\, indie rock scene\, and eventually began playing music together. His idiosyncratic guitar work became an essential part of her production. He wrote most of the guitar parts on her first two records\, and their creative relationship stretched for nearly 10 years. But life on the road isn’t for all\, one thing led to another\, and Rowan decided to step away. After Harmon passed\, Matt was one of the first people Goodman called. From there they began to mend their relationship\, and eventually\, once she started working on her new album\, S.G. asked Rowan to be her co-producer. The album would not exist in its current form without their reconciliation. \nWith over 150 performances on the books in ‘23\, including headlining sold out tours and opening for the likes of Tyler Childers and Jason Isbell from Red Rocks to the Grand Ole’ Opry\, there was also little time for songwriting\, much less recording. As she sings on “Fire Sign\,” S.G. was working like “the sun don’t shine on the same dog’s ass everyday.” So\, after a restful\, somewhat celebratory winter in the beginning months of 2024\, she began writing and demo-ing a new album\, eventually Drew Vandenberg\, who also co-produced and engineered Teeth Marks\, to join he and Rowan as co-producers. \nFinally\, after nearly three years of promoting her critically-acclaimed and award winning album\, Teeth Marks\, with a touring schedule that would make the most seasoned road-dog wince\, Goodman decamped to the Nutt House in Sheffield\, AL\, in the fall of 2024. Alongside co-producer Drew Vandenberg\, Rowan\, and a cast of musical characters\, Goodman tracked what is by no exaggeration her best record to date. With songs like “Fire Sign\,” “Satellite\,” “Snapping Turtle\,” “Michael Told Me\,” “Heaven” and “I’m In Love\,” Planting by the Signs finds Goodman exploring this old story and other themes in the only way she knows; with a fresh musical and lyrical perspective\, vivid\, incisive detail\, and a heaping dose of empathy and compassion.

SUMMARY:Testament - Thrash Of The Titans w/ Overkill\, Destruction
DESCRIPTION:TESTAMENT – Para Bellum (2025)  \nJackie Dusza \nWith every generation comes a great war. It may take years to fully reveal itself\, but the seasoned warrior knows preparation is everything. Now in 2025\, Bay Area thrash metal icons TESTAMENT return with their fourteenth studio album\, Para Bellum\, via Nuclear Blast Records. Taken from the Latin phrase Si vis pacem\, para bellum—“If you want peace\, prepare for war”—the album stands as both a battle cry and an observation of humanity’s uneasy alliance with its own creations. As technology accelerates and disconnection grows\, Para Bellum sees TESTAMENT reflecting the modern chaos through music that’s urgent\, sharp\, and unflinchingly human. \nTrue to their legacy\, Para Bellum is a masterclass in dynamic thrash songwriting\, guided by founding guitarist Eric Peterson and vocalist Chuck Billy\, who continue to lead the band with vision and force. Each track on the album stands on its own—distinct in structure\, key\, and atmosphere—but when taken together\, they create a record that flows seamlessly\, puzzle-like\, through eras and styles. From the haunting\, groove-laden “Shadow People” to the whiplash intensity of “Infanticide A.I.\,” the band explores themes both timeless and immediate: technology’s encroachment\, supernatural dread\, generational collapse\, and duels worthy of a standoff in “The Gathering”-esque “High Noon”. \n“Who’s the fastest?” Billy jokes\, “It sounds like there is about to be a draw.” Songs shift effortlessly from pummeling thrash to eerie darkness\, with Chuck stretching his voice across clean chants\, guttural roars\, and whispers of doom\, all in perfect sync with the mood of each piece. \nTo the delight of many life-long Testament fans\, this record also sees the inclusion of a ballad for the first time in many years. Precisely formulated to weave effortlessly with the album\, “Meant To Be” contains a world of variety within itself; “I love how the song takes off at the end and just doesn’t look back\,” explains Peterson. “It’s different\, but it fits. It’s like a breath of fresh air.” This also marks another novel moment for the band using true\, orchestrated strings performed by world renowned cellist Dave Eggar. \nA major evolution on Para Bellum is the addition of powerhouse drummer Chris Dovas\, whose precision\, speed\, and instinctive dynamics infuse the album with fresh energy. Working closely with Peterson throughout the writing process\, Dovas helped shape song structures\, accelerated the workflow\, and injected a level of versatility that amplifies the album’s modern edge without straying from the Testament sound. “He’s so inspired and quick to throw ideas back\,” says Peterson\, who also embraced his own black metal influences more heavily this time\, both vocally and in the guitar work. Tracks like “Infanticide A.I.” and “For the Love of Pain” reflect this genre-blending approach—tight thrash foundations with ripples of black metal atmosphere. “Eric and I have a lot of similar influences\,” explains Dovas\, “We worked really closely on this album and had a great time.” \nAlongside Peterson\, Alex Skolnick’s guitar work remains both razor-sharp and exploratory. “This album captures many different sides of the band through the years\, along with some fresh new sounds\,” Skolnick notes. “There’s a little something for everyone. You will not be disappointed.” Rounding out the rhythm section is the inimitable Steve DiGiorgio\, whose walking bass lines add a unique low-ness\, and technical depth\, locking in flawlessly with Dovas’ expressive drumming. Meanwhile\, Chuck leads the lyrical vision with contributions from longtime collaborator Del James and other friends\, weaving a mix of supernatural mythos\, sociopolitical commentary\, and apocalyptic dread. \nRecorded with Juan Urteaga and mixed for the first time by Jens Bogren\, Para Bellum is extremely polished and operating at full throttle. The cover art\, once again painted by Eliran Kantor\, captures the album’s essence: a serene angel made of missiles\, an explosion turned halo\, surrounded by shovel-bearing cultists with books strapped to their faces. It’s a visual metaphor for blind belief and self-destruction—created\, notably\, by hand –  in an era flooded by AI-generated imagery. \nIn its opening notes\, Para Bellum nods to the past by resurrecting a lost bridge from The Legacy—a full-circle moment that anchors the album’s expansive sonic journey. And as it ends\, it does so peacefully\, with a moment of classical-esque finger picking long used by Peterson to warm up his hands before battle. From first note to last breath\, Para Bellum is an album by warriors—crafted in chaos\, and built to outlast the wars to come! \nAlbum Punchline \nWith every generation comes a great war. It may take years to fully reveal itself\, but the seasoned warrior knows preparation is everything. Para Bellum\, Testaments fourteenth album and first in 5 years\, stands as both a battle cry and an observation of humanity’s uneasy alliance with its own creations\, reflecting the modern chaos through music that’s urgent\, sharp\, and unflinchingly human \n\n \n\nOverkill\nIn an age where music is available instantly and bands appear and fade just as quickly\, the power and resiliency that is OVERKILL who’s initial social media was stuffing show flier ads under windshield wipers in the 80s\, has remained as resolute as ever\, and even more so. \nNew frontiers aren’t often conquered in the modern world of heavy metal\, yet OVERKILL remain unfazed by the growing presence of social media\, modern internet\, a demand for streaming services\, and a general sense of competition between the sea of other metal bands trying to make a name for themselves\, today. \nIt’s with over 30 years under their leather belts that these New Jersey natives are prepared to unveil their latest offering: “The Wings Of War.” With 10 tracks and fifty one minutes long\, their 19th full length album is the ultimate combination of sickening brutality and addictive melody. It was yet another incredible album cover design by Travis Smith that sparked the idea of what to name this next album. With 5 of the iconic Overkill winged skulls brooding powerfully around the table seemingly prepared for battle\, “The Wings of War” simply rolled off the tongue. \nWith the fresh addition of seasoned drummer Jason Bittner\, OVERKILL is experiencing a new chemistry this time around\, truly giving the record a unique feel. The writing was funneled through its familiar foundation\, but now had a fresh influence and energy that inspired the entire band. “We’ve never had an identity crisis\,” says frontman Bobby Blitz\, “but we still like raising an eyebrow from time to time!” Morphing into the modern day and taking advantage of the convenience of technological advances\, this old school group of guys utilize technology for its instantaneous qualities that help fuel their momentum\, and prevent the build up of stagnant ideas. \nAlthough Bassist DD Verni and guitarist Dave Linsk have their own recording set up\, OVERKILL goes out of house for their drum recording to longtime friend Joey De Maio of Shorefire Studios in Long Branch New Jersey\, and for their vocals to Johnny Rod of Rockland County New York. The the real guitar work gets accomplished at DD’s studio\, Blitz absorbs the sounds and fills in the guts with melodies\, phonetics\, dirty-sweet lyrics\, and the songs develop organically. \nAlbum opener “Last Man Standing” is OVERKILL kicking the door in with a hard and loud tune that’s rooted in some of the best angst that thrash possesses. Memories retained from this song are memories similar to the classic 80’s vibe but with a new-age mechanical feel that thoroughly updates it. This was also the first song recorded with newcomer Jason Bitner. \nThe album’s second single “Head Of A Pin” is a lyrical journey about disappointment and trust. Musically\, the song comes across as “Black Sabbath on meth” proclaims Blitz. It intertwines riffs and vocal melodies that pick it up into a real pounder and create something truly special. \n“The Wings Of War”  also holds something to look forward to for east coast metal heads with a track entitled “Welcome To The Garden State.” Bobby Blitz explains: “It’s all about us. It’s the way we grew up as kids\, it’s a certain attitude about the area\, it’s responding to “we don’t do that where we’re from” with: “well guess what\, you’re not where you’re from! You’re here\, now!” The song sums up the New Jersey attitude with over 4 minutes of thrashy\, punky\, honest vibration\, and defines OVERKILL\, as well. \nWith at least the next six months already blocked off for a South American tour\, followed by a European Tour and U.S. Tour\, OVERKILL are on overdrive as usual with no signs of coming to a halt. This most recent cycle has a different feel; an old formula that evolved with new life and new breath and that after all these years\, still generates an exquisite power.

SUMMARY:Hawthorne Heights w/ letlive.\, Creeper
DESCRIPTION:Hawthorne Heights is an American rock band from Dayton\, Ohio\, known for shaping the sound of early 2000s emo and post-hardcore. Formed in 2001\, the band first broke into the national spotlight with their 2004 debut album The Silence in Black and White\, featuring the anthems “Ohio Is for Lovers” and “Niki FM.” Their blend of emotionally charged lyrics\, melodic hooks\, and heavy guitars quickly earned them a devoted following and a defining place in the alternative scene. \nThe band followed up with the 2006 release If Only You Were Lonely\, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and cemented Hawthorne Heights as one of the leading voices of the emo generation. Known for their cathartic live shows and raw emotional honesty\, they’ve built a career on connection\, nostalgia\, and evolution. \nWith releases like Fragile Future\, Zero\, and The Rain Just Follows Me\, Hawthorne Heights continues to blend nostalgia with renewal\, connecting with both lifelong fans and new listeners alike. Their most recent work expands their sonic landscape while staying true to the emotional core that made them a cornerstone of the midwestern emo movement. \nForever rooted in their DIY ethic and love for the community that built them\, Hawthorne Heights continues to tour relentlessly\, bringing their heartfelt energy to stages around the world — a reminder that even in the darkest times\, music can bring light\, healing\, and hope. Since 2003\, come hell or fire\, Hawthorne Heights has never given up and has been dedicated to giving their fans every last drop. \n\n \n\nletlive.\nFormed in 2002\, letlive. quickly established themselves as one of the most energetic and emotionally charged acts in the alternative music scene. Fronted by the dynamic and impassioned Jason Aalon Butler\, the band blended elements of hardcore\, punk\, R&B\, and soul to create a unique sonic identity that resonated with fans worldwide. Their breakout album\, Fake History (2010)\, gained critical acclaim for its raw emotion and innovative sound\, earning them a dedicated following. This success led to their signing with Epitaph Records\, where they released two more groundbreaking albums: The Blackest Beautiful (2013) and If I’m the Devil… (2016). Both records showcased the band’s evolution\, tackling social justice\, personal struggle\, and self-discovery themes with unrelenting honesty and creativity. Known for their legendary live performances\, letlive. became a force of nature on stage\, with shows described as chaotic yet cathartic experiences. Their unfiltered energy and Butler’s explosive stage presence connected deeply with audiences\, making every performance unforgettable. The band announced its breakup shortly after releasing If I’m the Devil…\, and it went on hiatus. Now\, letlive. returns. \nletlive.’s return is more than a farewell it’s a rebirth. This reunion celebrates their groundbreaking past and continues their mission to challenge\, inspire\, and connect with fans through their unapologetically honest and emotionally charged music. \n\n\n \n\nCreeper

SUMMARY:Bryant Barnes
DESCRIPTION:By balancing cinematic ambition and intensely intimate emotion\, Bryant Barnes conjures alternative R&B tailormade for the biggest stages worldwide. The Houston-born singer\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist has unassumingly blazed his own trail to the forefront of the culture\, gathering hundreds of millions of streams\, attracting a social audience of 7 million\, selling out shows\, and earning acclaim from PAPER\, Genius\, COLORS\, OnesToWatch\, and more. He has devoted his entire life to music\, shining on various instruments as a kid before gaining traction with a series of viral piano covers. Since 2023\, Bryant’s tireless grind has established him as a phenomenon further affirmed by 2024’s breakthrough VANITY EP. Beyond standouts like “Don’t Want A Love Song\,” “Give Me A Sign\,” and “Adore You\,” the single “I’d Rather Pretend” eclipsed 300 million streams. Given this success\, he also sold out his debut headline shows in New York\, Los Angeles\, and Houston in less than three minutes. It’s no wonder VEVO hailed him as a DSCVR 2025 Artist To Watch and 070 Shake handpicked him to open up her Petrichor North American Tour. However\, everything just set the stage for his full-length debut album\, SOLACE\, in 2025 and much more to come.

SUMMARY:Sebastian Bach - The Party Never Ends Tour 2026
DESCRIPTION:With an inimitable presence as loud as his instantly identifiable voice\, SEBASTIAN BACH has left a San Andreas Fault-size imprint on music\, theater\, film\, television\, and culture. Moreover\, his influence only continues to magnify. He has penned and voiced some of the most iconic anthems in rock history\, crafting a catalog highlighted by generational hits such as “18 and Life\,” “I Remember You\,” “Youth Gone Wild\,” “Slave To The Grind\,” “Wasted Time\,” and “Monkey Business\,” to name a few. He has made history as “the first heavy metal singer on Broadway” with a now legendary turn in Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical in addition to leading roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jesus Christ Superstar. He has appeared in dozens of television series and films\, ranging from “Trailer Park Boys” and “Robot Chicken” to “Spongebob Squarepants\,” “The Masked Singer\,” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” Speaking to his versatility\, he’s the rare force of nature who can duet with Axl Rose and reprise a seven-season recurring role on “Gilmore Girls.” On the hells of BACH’s show-stopping appearances as “Tiki” on Fox’s “The Masked Singer\,” which earned him a spot as a Group B Finalist in December 2023\, he released a new single “What Do I Got To Lose?” SEBASTIAN was back on TV in early 2024 when he appeared on Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition: Heroes vs. Villains.” Shortly thereafter\, BACH released his CHILD WITHIN tHE MAN (Reigning Phoenix Music)\, it marked his first new album in ten years. Out May 10\, 2024\, the 11-track album was recorded in Orlando\, Florida; produced and mixed by Elvis Baskette; engineered by Jef Moll\, assistant engineered by Josh Saldate and mastered by Robert Ludwig/Gateway Mastering. BACH wrote or co-wrote all the album’s tracks and sang all lead and backing vocals. \n\n \n\nStitched Up Heart\nStitched Up Heart \nAlecia “Mixi” Demner – lead vocals \nMerritt Goodwin – lead guitar \nRandy Mathias – bass/backing vocals \nJames Decker – drums/backing vocals \nStitched Up Heart’s goals for their sophomore album were daunting: “For each song we tried to throw paint—musically speaking—in a completely different direction\, trying to create something innovative and different without losing our identity\,” explains singer Alecia “Mixi” Demner. The end result is Darkness\,11 deeply emotional songs\, including “Warrior” and “Darkness\,” boasting a sonic sheen that’s at once organic\, yet intense and electronic. Produced by From First To Last singer/guitarist Matt Good (producer of Asking Alexandria and Hollywood Undead)\, Stitched Up Heart realized their impressive aural goals\, blending\, warping and creating their own brand of rock by utilizing “different elements to modernize our music and make it unique and fresh.” Proof is in the intense dynamics of first single\, “Lost\,” which features forceful guest vocals from Sully Erna of Godsmack. (Stitched Up Heart kicked off the anticipated Darkness touring cycle with Godsmack and Volbeat in April\, 2019.) \nWhile the musical growth and creative chances taken by the L.A.-based lineup is evident\, fans of the band’s 2016 debut\, Never Alone\, will recognize the Stitched Up Heart’s signature sound: Demner’s flexible\, passionate voice—a bit more airy and breathy and cool on this record—over ultra-melodic but sometimes unsettling heavy\, riffing rock with darkly electronic guitar stylings. Of the band’s lauded debut\, Shockwave magazine said\, “…Never Alone personifies the new hard rock genre to near perfection.” Indeed\, Never Alone\, released in mid-2016\, debuted in the Top 10 of both the Billboard Heatseeker and Hard Rock charts\, with SiriusXM’s Octane putting the single “Finally Free” on hyper rotation. \nWhile Darkness has been worth the wait\, it’s actually an album that might never have been\, hence the many shades of\, well\, darkness on the record. “At first\, lyrically I wanted to write about strength. But during the time we were writing the album\, I was going through a lot of challenges\,” explains Demner. “It was really hard to be strong in a place where it’s dark and it’s scary.” She doesn’t want to dwell on her personal life\, but in short\, a health issue and surgery challenged her voice. The pressures she endured during that time are reflected in lyrics like “Can’t get a hold of the state that I’m in / I’m feeling the weight / On my shoulders.”  That said\, Demner adds\, “I know at the other end that you come out stronger; you grow through what you go through. But still\, that theme of dwelling in darkness goes throughout the album.” \nIn addition to Demner’s challenges\, the entire band felt pressure in following up their successful debut. “As human beings\, want to be better than we were yesterday. We wanted to make a better record than we did before. We want to top ourselves every time\,” they say. To that end\, the band wrote 70 songs over a year-long period. The final contenders were tracked at producer Good’s Arizona studio. Getting out of LA was cathartic for Demner\, who drove across the desert alone to write and work with Good before being joined by the band. “You know\, those feelings you get when you know there’s some sort of transition that’s about to come? Driving to Arizona was like I was closing a chapter of my life and going into unknown territory\,” she says.  Demner remembers the moment when the song “Darkness” fully clicked for her: “I was staying at an Airbnb during the recording\, and I listened to it while I was floating in the pool at night\, staring at the moon. It was beautiful\, and I just knew then that the song was going to be something really cool.” \nOther stellar songs include “Warrior\,” which\, Demner admits with a laugh\, was “ordered” by her grandmother. It was the first song written for Darkness\, and the frontwoman relates\, “’Warrior’ is in some ways literal\, about being in the military\, and questioning why you’re fighting\, and what you’re fighting for. Whether it’s the right choice\, and if you’re doing it for the right reasons\,” she explains. “My grandpa was in the military\, and I did a song on the last album for veterans as well.” \nAs for the overall sound of Darkness\, Demner gives Good high praise. “The cherry on top is all of the sound design elements.” For instance\, “Matt would take recordings of my voice\, then turn it into its own melody and its own instrument\, making it into an electronic-like sound. It’s something we hadn’t done before; we just want to be as innovative as possible.” The band were spot-on in the album sessions. “We were going to give Decker about a week to do the drums for the whole record and he finished it all in like\, I think three hours or something crazy! Randy and Merritt totally stepped up in the studio too. We challenged ourselves and took a risk musically and it couldn’t have gone better.” \nGetting Erna on “Lost” involved more travel for Demner. “We had been going back and forth on a song to do together. We’d pretty much finished our whole writing process and still didn’t know what song was right for him. As I was listening to our album as a whole and I realized that ‘Lost’ could work.” The frontwoman flew to Erna’s Nashville studio for the recording. Demner’s lyrical take is about how the brain can be destructive\, noting\, “it’s like a machine\, always working and thinking\, but it can spin out of control and turn into a dark depression.” But Erna went even darker. “He looked at it as basically an evil entity of darkness in your mind\, like a computer virus\, if you will. It’s somewhat seductive and enticing and luring you into this depression\, and it doesn’t want to let you go.” \nHumbled by the success and attention garnered for Never Alone\, Stitched Up Heart are eager to thank their supporters and fans with tons of touring\, helping to get Darkness into the light. “While there are a lot of dark parts where I dug really deep on this album\, there’s hope as well\,” Demner affirms. “If you just hang in though the tough times\, there’s still cool stuff that happens in those times… and of course\, now that we love our new record and are on tour\, everything’s so exciting.” If Darkness is personal\, it’s also purposely universal. “I ask the universe to try to come up with the words so that I can reach people as deeply as possible\,” says Demner. “My hope is ultimately to really have our music connect intensely with people—guys\, girls\, young\, old—everyone and anyone.”     \nMay\, 2019
