SUMMARY:Iration And Pepper With Special Guests DENM And Artikal Sound System
DESCRIPTION:ARTISTS\n\n\nIRATION\n\n \n\nIration is an alternative/reggae group of musicians formed in Isla Vista\, CA. A deep-rooted reggae influence is fused with elements of rock and pop to create smooth original sounds – “We’re all about luv”\, states the band. The group is made up of members Joseph Dickens (Drums)\, Joseph King (Engineer)\, Cayson Peterson (Keyboard/Synth)\, Micah Pueschel (Guitar/Lead Vocals)\, Adam Taylor (Bass)\, and Micah Brown (Guitar/Vocals). All of the members of Iration met while growing up in Hawaii but formed the band after reconnecting in Santa Barbara\, CA – the exception being Micah Brown who officially joined the group in 2014. \n  \nIn May 2015 Iration debuted their newest single “Reelin” via radio\, gaining spins on several stations from San Diego CA to Wilmington NC. The song was immediately added at several stations and continues to gain momentum on the alternative radio chart – Iration’s recently recorded Hotting Up LP is due out for release late this summer 2015. \n  \nThe group has been touring nationally since 2008\, performing at national festivals like Lollapalooza\, Hangout\, Big Guava Wakarusa\, etc. In These Hawaiian-bred musicians look forward to spreading their original sound and Aloha spirit all the while never forgetting to get a surf in when possible. \n  \n\n\nSOCIAL LINKS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPEPPER\n\n \n\nOhana: The Hawaiian word for family\, which is used to convey the sense of togetherness that transcends blood ties. \nFor Pepper paying homage to their roots is essential over a decade in to their celebrated career. The Southern California trio\, who formed in 1997 and moved to the mainland from the three musicians’ hometown of Kailua-Kona\, Hawaii in 1999\, know that where they come from should always be infused in the music they create. On Ohana\, the group’s seventh full-length album (4/29/16\, LAW Records)\, Pepper embraces the feelings and sounds that encouraged them to become a band in the first place. \n“Over our past few albums\, we had been departing from our original sound and exploring new directions\,” Bret notes. “On this album\, we wanted to come back to our classic style and revisit our roots. The writing and recording process was a conscious effort to do that.” \n“We wanted to strip the band down to its natural state\,” Kaleo adds. “We’ve always been a three-piece band with good songs and energy and our goal was to showcase that. We’re all were really pleased with how the music came out and how it conveys the strengths of our band.” \nIt was important to the musicians to self-produce Ohana\, which marks the first time Pepper has helmed the production of one of their albums. From their 2000 debut Give’n It to their 2006 standout album No Shame\, which was recorded with 311’s Nick Hexum\, No Doubt’s Tony Kanal and Butthole Surfers’ Paul Leary\, Pepper has explored various methods of recording\, always hoping to embody not only their signature style of music but their lifestyle in the songs. Ohana was recorded last fall in the band’s own Kona Inn Recording Studio in Redondo Beach. The building is the former home of Pennywise’s Stall #2 studio and embodies a positive vibe for Pepper\, who have recently begun recording other artists in the space. \n“It was time for us to take the reins\,” Bret says. “We’ve been through the process with several really cool producers in the past and we’ve learned a lot from them. We have the knowledge now and it’s about not being complacent anymore. We wanted to do it ourselves\, so it’s from our family to yours.” \n“I really wanted to simplify everything and not overthink things\,” Yesod adds. “We wanted to go jam in a room and hit record. I think we found a great balance in the studio and the end result was pure Pepper\, condensed down to its purest form. It was really gratifying to be in control of the process from start to finish and know that we created every aspect of the album.” \nThe resulting album features Pepper’s surf rock songs\, showcasing the upbeat\, positive vibe elements that make the band so beloved by their fans. There is\, as usual\, an ever-present sense of sunshine throughout the tracks\, bolstering the music’s sense of optimism. The party anthems\, the beach hang melodies\, the boisterous rhythms are all there\, each song carefully crafted to best express sunny moments by the ocean. “Vacation\,” a fun\, upbeat reggae-tinged number\, was co-written by Bret and production duo Diji Parq and seems\, to the band\, like “the Beach Boys at their goofiest.” The soulful “Never Ending Summer” is about taking full advantage of something before it ends while “Wait” evolved throughout the writing process and eventually became a propulsive crooner that feels like signature Pepper. \n“Every song on this album is a great example of what we wanted to do\,” Kaleo says. “That’s why there are only ten of them. We wanted to give the music our concentrated\, focused attention. It’s not about the singles\, but about being a whole piece. That’s why we gave it the most powerful name we know.” \n“Growing up in Hawaii your Ohana defines you\,” Yesod says. “It is you. And it’s not just family through blood – it’s family through spirithood\, brotherhood and sisterhood. Ohana is truly the strongest bond that can ever be made. It’s how we feel about each other as friends and as a band\, and we wanted that spirit to come through in the music itself. These songs come together to create their own version of Ohana.” \nOver the years\, Pepper have toured extensively with groups like 311\, Slightly Stoopid\, Flogging Molly and Sublime With Rome\, and spent several summers on Warped Tour – and this live sensibility shows on the album\, released on the group’s own LAW Records. The band’s music – both live and on their releases – is really about enjoying life and being grateful for each experience. They want to give their all to every performance and share their passion with their fans and with younger artists. \n“We’re still growing a lot\,” Bret says. “Our live show continues to improve and evolve and we always give it our all onstage. We have so much fun playing\, even all these years later. And we’ve gotten to work and tour with so many different artists. We’ve learned a lot from them. Everything we do is done from love. We feel good to all be sitting at a table\, laughing\, twenty years later. It’s the three of us\, just like when we were kids. Because we were together long before we were a band and we’re still such good friends. We can’t stop doing this and we don’t want to ever stop enjoying it.”

Simplot Lodge. \nHIGH PINE WHISKEY YELL\nBorn out of a desperate need for craft beer\, deep powder\, plastic jug moonshine\, fast-moving rivers\, and a deep-seated fear that artificial intelligence will ruin hard-driving bluegrass… High Pine Whiskey Yell came together as a band in 2018 and released its first EP (The Orchard Sessions) in 2019.  Its newest album “Garden City Double-Wide” was released June 2021 and continues to build on the band’s Idaho roots. \n\n\nThis five-piece group of modern-day rounders focuses on telling true stories about robots taking your job\, banksters robbing from the poor\, the trials of gold panning in Idaho\, skiing/riding deep powder\, UFOs\, and a few other traditional bluegrass subjects (such as murder\, drinking\, and dogs). \n\n\n\nBringing experience from a multitude of projects\, this Idaho string band is sure to win you over with its take on bluegrass and the Americana tradition. Its members have played in numerous bands and projects throughout the years incorporating those experiences into Idaho storytelling that is High Pine Whiskey Yell.  Providing support for groups such as The Lil Smokies\, Pixie and the Party Grass Boys\, Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs\, Boot Juice and numerous others… these fellas know how to bring the party. \n\n\n\nWebsite\n\n\n\n\nFacebook\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\nJEFF CROSBY\nBorn and raised in Idaho\, Jeff Crosby has been sharing his unique perspective of Americana throughout the US and Europe over the past decade. After moving to Los Angeles CA in 2012\, Crosby landed 2 songs (“This Old Town” and “Oh Love\, Oh Lord”) on the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy which has led to the band continually performing over 200 shows a year throughout the US and Europe. Additionally\, Crosby spent 2015-16 on the road playing lead guitar for Widespread Panic song-writer Jerry Joseph\, as well as for Austin Texas road warriors Reckless Kelly in 2019. \n\n\n\nCrosby has co-written songs featured on Austin TX band Micky & The Motorcars recent release Long Time Comin’ and Reckless Kelly’s American Girls/American Jackpot. After spending 3 years based in Nashville TN\, Crosby has returned to Idaho and will continue to tour with his band full-time in support of his most recent release NORTHSTAR (APRIL 2020) and the current single “Runnin’ Free” (MAY 2021) feat. Cody Braun (Reckless Kelly) and Produced/Engineered by Gregg Williams and Jonathan Tyler.

SUMMARY:THE POLYPHONIC SPREE w/ Another Michael
DESCRIPTION:The phoenix symbolizes a new beginning. The fire burns off the last vestiges of the past as the bird\nspreads its wings and takes flight into the future. The Polyphonic Spree harness the flames of rebirth\non their 2023 full-length offering\, Salvage Enterprise. Led by frontman\, founder\, producer\,\nmulti-instrumentalist\, and visionary Tim DeLaughter\, the group embark on their next season.\nThey’re reverent of their history\, yet they’re also ready for an even brighter tomorrow.\n“Across all of the music I’ve done\, lyrically there’s a sense of desperation and a moment of\nconvincing myself I’m going to make it through regardless of how the music dresses up\,” notes\nTim. “On this one\, I struggled with the amount of vulnerability I was experiencing and was willing\nto share both musically and lyrically\, but ultimately decided to let it play out. Now that it’s done\,\nI’m happy with the dance between the two. It’s a ‘rising-from-the-ashes’ record.”\nThe Polyphonic Spree was born out of similar circumstances back in 2000. Following a period of\nheartbreak\, confusion\, and uncertainty as his original band Tripping Daisy fell apart\, Tim started\nover again. Accompanied by 23 other collaborators\, draped in robes\, and drunk on the natural\nexuberance of a new chapter\, he introduced The Polyphonic Spree with the now-classic 2002\ndebut\, The Beginning Stages of… The signature “Light & Day/Reach for the Sun” surged\nthrough popular culture for two decades\, appearing everywhere from the Academy®\nAward-winning 2004 classic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to a 2017 episode of\nGirlboss. It would even be performed on-screen in Wonder and serve as the theme song for Dr\nSeuss’s The Lorax. Delivering rapturous live experiences at countless festivals and on numerous\nlate-night television shows\, they also notably graced the stage at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert\nand opened an entire tour for the late David Bowie. Beyond Tim scoring Thumbsucker by\nfilmmaker Mike Mills\, the band contributed a cover of Nirvana’s “Lithium” to the Academy®\nAward-winning The Big Short. Along the way\, they entranced listeners with the likes of Together\nWe’re Heavy [2004]\, The Fragile Army [2007]\, Yes It’s True [2013]\, and Psychphonic[2014]. In the\nwake of the 2021 covers LP Afflatus\, Dallas Morning News proclaimed\, “The Spree Remains one\nof the more beloved names in the Texas rock landscape.” Without question\, The Polyphonic\nSpree has quietly made an indelible impact upon culture since the turn-of-the-century. Their\nmusic has found its way to listeners everywhere\, either on the radio\, in books\, movies\, fashion\,\nor even through comedians. As the years pass\, this impact has only magnified.\nOver the past few years\, Tim often found himself alone with a guitar. The instrument doubled as\na creative north star for what would eventually become Salvage Enterprise.\n“Most of these songs were written on guitar\,” he affirms. “There’s an acoustic current running\nthrough the whole body of work\, and we tried to embrace it as a thread. It has a lot of space to\ncontemplate what we’re going through. I was very specific on instrumentation. I knew I wanted a\ncross between a Percy Faith and Crosby\, Stills\, Nash\, & Young record. With the ability of The \nSpree to have crescendos\, peaks\, valleys\, we were able to add depth and texture to the classic\nharmonies and rich folk.”\nAudiences notably crowdfunded the record\, powering the process—similar to the predecessor\nAfflatus. It speaks to the commitment of their audience once again. Finishing the music\, Tim did\nsomething else he’d never done before. After teasing the album in one-time online sessions for\ncrowd-funders\, he hopped in a van\, traveled across the country\, and hosted guerilla “listening\nexperiences” for fans. Armed with a couple of generators\, he arranged the speakers in a circle\nwith moving blankets and played Salvage Enterprise from top-to-bottom for free. He hosted\nthese impromptu events in Topanga\, Ojai\, Los Angeles\, San Diego\, Griffith Park\, Echo Park\,\nMarina Del Rey\, Austin\, Santa Cruz\, and beyond.\n“The idea was to get outside\, look at the stars\, and play this thing in its entirety wherever I\ncould\,” he goes on. “It was meant to be a chance to take the music in—and take a break from\ndaily life and. I wanted people to hear it as an album in the classic sense. Back in the day\, you’d\ngo buy a record with a friend\, come home\, go straight to your bedroom\, press play\, and listen to\nthe whole thing. I tried to achieve that again.”\nNow\, Salvage Enterprise beckons complete immersion. Opener “Galloping Seas (Section 44)”\naffixes softly strummed acoustic guitar to an orchestral hum as Tim urges\, “Hold on through the\ngalloping seas.”\n“We’re all galloping through rough waters\,” he says. “I tried to describe the process as well as I\ncould and encourage people to keep their heads above the storm and the waves. Ride it out. It’s\ngoing to be okay. It starts off very calm and introspective\, and you can envision where it’s\ngoing.”\nFlute echoes over nimbly plucked guitar during “Shadows On The Hillside (Section 48)” as keys\ntwinkle. A glorious harmony amplifies the nostalgia of “Hop Off The Fence (Section 49).” It\nconcludes with “Morning Sun\, I Built The Stairs (Section 52).” Optimism strains through his\nhopeful intonation\, “I learned to fly\, the more that I become a new reason\, I want to try\,” uplifted\nby boisterous horns and cinematic strings. It crashes into an Ennio Morricone-style crescendo\nbolstered even higher by operatic vocals.\n“There is an arc of leaving the world behind\, stripping your old self away\, and becoming new\nagain\,” he offers. “You’re shedding off this old world\, and you’re heading into the future. It’s an\nepic ending. You’ve made it. You’re going to be alright.”\nIn the end\, The Polyphonic Spree are the soundtrack to that light at the end of the tunnel.\n“I was a vessel for this music\,” he leaves off. “To me\, this is so much more than another album\nwith an ultimate goal of performing it in a rock club. It has a cinematic aspect which I discovered \nas I traveled across various landscapes when sharing with others. While we can’t wait to bring\nthese songs to a live setting\, we are equally excited about the other venues that will host the\nnarrative in a visual fashion. Stay tuned.” \n\n\n\n \n\nAnother Michael\n\nSomething very special happens in the moment a listener truly connects to a song–some intangible reaction that bridges science and emotion\, turning firing synapses into something beautiful. Another Michael exists for that moment: when a song transforms the setting of a long walk home\, or when it speaks to a past experience while simultaneously making a new one\, or when it taps into something universal by relating details so specific and personal that they could only be revealed in music. On their new dual LPs\, Wishes To Fulfill and Pick Me Up\, Turn Me Upside Down\, the band set out to revel in their love of song\, to create and pay tribute to that transcendent musical moment across two contrasting but complimentary albums–and their finest work yet. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nMylo Bybee\n\nMYLO BYBEE… Is a whirlwind mix of indie\, hard-hitting alt rock that comes together in a fiery arrangement of organized chaos. Formed in Boise\, Idaho during the pandemic of 2020\, their catchy tunes and a “punch you in the face” energetic presence makes you want to cry\, cheer\, and break something all at once – all very usual lockdown feelings. \n“The music sweeps you up into the soundscape with the easy vibes of the opening only to enthrall you with a more upbeat chorus” \n– The Other Side Reviews \nEarly demos have ended up on playlists spanning across hard rock\, alternative rock\, indie pop and folk \n“The vocals sound youthful yet smooth. There’s a sense of optimism and freedom that comes with this track” \n– Girl At The Rock Shows blog
