To recruit Caregivers – There are not enough caregivers\, this is a crisis\, and we need help. But what does being a caregiver look like? Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the foundation of all support given to people with disabilities in our community by providing one-on-one personal care services that clinical professionals do not have time for. DSPs support people to live full and meaningful lives. Again\, what does this look like? Come to the Carnival and see. See how these amazing people interact and support their clients and friends. Interact with community members who need support and decide if you have time or interest in becoming a DSP. There will be agencies hiring and a booth of community support worker positions. Full-time\, Part-time\, Days\, Nights\, Evenings\, Weekends\, all shifts are available. Need training\, no problem\, we can help with that too. Being a Caregiver is not for everyone. That’s okay. If you only attend to have FUN\, you are still supporting our community! \n3.) To Connect our Community – It is hard to ask for help. It is even harder to find help when you don’t know who to ask. Many times\, people do not know there is help for them. If you feel alone or unable to get the support you need\, come to our Carnival. Our community is full of amazing and knowledgeable people who care. This event is an opportunity to network with and meet others who believe that Everyone Deserves Support. We need to support those who give support. \nFREE Admission: includes a Booth Bingo Card\, map\, and schedule to performances by the Idaho Renaissance Festival\, Whiskey Tango Blues Jazz Band\, Akashic Moves\, and more to be announced. \nCarnival Tickets: 1 for $3\, 2 for $5\, 5 for $10\, 10 for $18 & 20 for $30\nThis is the fundraising part of the Carnival. DESCRIPTION:Not a band. Not DJ’s. We throw parties for the music we love. \nAs Rolling Stone observed a few years ago\, “Emo Nite Vindicated the Scene.” \nSince they threw their first party at an East L.A. dive bar\, Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca\, and a dedicated crew of regular attendees\, built Emo Nite into a phenomenon. Top-tier emo artists\, old and new\, curate playlists and perform\, with guest lists boasting members of blink-182\, All Time Low\, Dashboard Confessional\, The Maine\, and Good Charlotte. Scene-friendly pop culture mavericks often participate\, like past attendees Post Malone\, Demi Lovato\, Machine Gun Kelly\, and Skrillex. \nIt’s all too easy to forget that before the first Emo Nite in December 2014\, “emo” was a joke. \nSomehow on its journey from a melodic post-hardcore subgenre\, built on earnest emotional expression\, to a mainstream moniker assigned to anything remotely angsty\, “emo” became a dirty word. Despite the positive impact ushered in by waves of bands\, from the crucial “Revolution Summer” and Sunny Day Real Estate through Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance\, accepting “emo” as a dismissive designation or identity invited polite embarrassment and even scorn. \nBut Freed and Petracca grew up loving the music associated with emo and the people like them who similarly embraced outsider art and subculture\, regardless of changing fashions or pretentious snobbery. Petracca told The New Yorker the idea behind the first Emo Nite celebration was to center a happy\, communal experience on the music they once listened to when they were upset and alone. \n“I sang Dashboard Confessional at karaoke at a friend’s birthday party and thought it was super fun to go out with friends and listen to music we actually liked\,” recalls Petracca\, who met Freed when the pair worked at a creative agency together. “Every other club in LA played EDM\, Top 40\, or hip-hop. We always found ourselves pre-gaming with emo and pop-punk music before we went out.” \nFreed knew a bartender at the Short Stop in Echo Park and convinced him to let them throw a party on a random\, rainy Tuesday. They invited friends via Facebook; double the bar’s capacity turned up. “We decided to see how far we could take it\,” Petracca says. “‘Who would be the craziest guest?’ We invited Mark Hoppus\, and he came! He did our first one at Echoplex\, which was our third party ever.” \n“There’s no disconnect between the artist and fan\,” Freed points out. “I think that’s brought people closer to the music. It created a really strong sense of community\, at a time when emo wasn’t ‘cool.’” \nThere may be a surprise acoustic set or even a full-band performance\, but ultimately\, it’s about the experience. Emo Nite turned a party into a community\, reclaiming the spirit of how the scene began. \nIt’s now a recurring event thrown by dozens of friends in over 30 cities in the United States. Emo Nite runs full-day festivals and curates coveted performance spots at Coachella\, Life is Beautiful\, and Firefly. Freed and Petracca launched successful clothing collaborations with brands like OBEY\, Urban Outfitters\, PLEASURES\, The Hundreds\, Rose in Good Faith\, Market\, and OWSLA. \n“A larger promoter told us the shelf life of a club night in Los Angeles was two years\,” Freed says\, marveling at Emo Nite’s staying power. “A hundred percent of it is the people that go to it. This music makes people feel connected. The energy of it is so special. You get a group of people together who look different\, but they have this thing in common. We started seeing friend groups form really\, really quickly. People met their significant others at these events. The community really trusts each other.” \n“Emo Nite LA has become an essential gathering point for fans of emo\, pop-punk\, and related styles\,” Rolling Stone noted. \nIn October 2021\, Emo Nite’s founders threw Emo Nite Vegas Vacation\, a three-day event headlined by Avril Lavigne and Machine Gun Kelly\, with Sleeping With Sirens\, MOD SUN\, 3OH!3\, and more. \n“What Emo Nite does better than any of their competitors is they make ‘emo culture’ feel both nostalgic and brand new\,” The Summer Set’s Brian Logan Dales told Forbes\, in a profile which included professions of love from members of Papa Roach\, Underoath\, and State Champs. “You can go to an Emo Nite with your best friends and sing along to old songs you grew up with\, and at the same time\, discover a brand-new artist who’s making music today because they grew up on that very same music as you. They’ve taken the emo of the past and helped it forge a new path for the future.” \nAs emo reenters popular culture with a blend of adoring nostalgia and optimistic forward- thinking\, Emo Nite remains an authentic space to celebrate diversity\, experience passionate catharsis\, and champion authentic expression. Emo Nite isn’t a band or a DJ crew. It’s an idea\, one as simple as the urge to throw a party for a beloved style of music. Often imitated but never truly duplicated\, Emo Nite’s founders and supporters are fond of saying\, “If you don’t see the grave\, it ain’t our rave.” \n“There’s a lot of ownership from our community of the event itself and the Emo Nite brand\,” Petracca says. “It’s about breaking down that barrier of ‘Look at me\, it’s all about me.’ No\, it’s about us\, together\, in this room. A love story with fluidity (and lots more fluids)\, SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw is Little Shop of Horrors meets Avenue Q\, pushing the boundary on sexuality and how to love. \nThe show is recommended for audience 16+. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted in the theatre. Parental discretion is strongly advised due to adult themes. Though there is certainly blood\, gore is minimal in this show being a parody.  \nSAW The Musical is currently planning/booking its 24 month+ National Tour launching in Los Angeles February 2024\, after opening Off-Broadway September 16th 2023. You’ll enjoy a delicious family-style dinner prepared by James Beard nominee Sarah Kelly while supporting our essential\, effective\, and empowering nonprofit! You are welcome to come early and/or stay late and rock out in the parking lot while enjoying some refreshments. The parking lot will be activated from 4-9 pm with tasty appetizers\, beer\, NA refreshments\, and wine donated by Amphora Wine. There will be a mix of original and cover tunes provided by awesome Boise Rock School youth bands throughout evening. We will also have a small silent auction with some incredible items! \nAs a 501(c)-3\, our annual budget comes from a mix of program revenue and charitable support. We simply could not do what we do without the generous charitable support of our community. This event is an awesome chance for you to support our organization\, while having an incredible experience. All proceeds will benefit our robust scholarship program and impactful outreach programming. We never turn any student away for inability to pay\, and scholarship dozens and dozens of students every month — we also bring critical music education to underserved communities such as: Ada County Juvenile Detention Center\, and St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital School. DESCRIPTION:Place\n4750 SOUTH SURPRISE WAY\nEastwind Community Church\nBoise\, ID US 83716\n\n\n\n\nDescription\n\n\nPlease join us on Saturday morning\, May 18\, for the 2024 Kick for Kenya and Clean Water 5K! \nRun or walk for a cause – proceeds from this year’s race will be used to help fund planning\, training\, pilot projects\, and/or additional land acquisition for eventual construction and development of a community center in rural eastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit)\, the Touch Africa Child Education Project (TACEP\, a Kenyan NGO)\, and the local community. A small plot of land ideally situated for the community center has been identified and purchased by TACEP\, with right of first refusal to purchase additional adjacent acreage. The long-term vision for the center includes TACEP field staff offices with dedicated space for tutoring and counseling\, educational and vocational training\, agricultural demonstration plots\, and on-site housing for children or families in need and/or short-term international visitors. Any excess funds raised will be invested where needed most\, in particular to provide educational opportunities\, improve public health\, and address the compounded effects of several consecutive years of extreme weather (a prolonged drought followed by recent flooding)\, which has led to food and water insecurity throughout the region. \nRace Notes:\n\n\nRegistration\, Entry Fees\, and Donations\n\nEarly bird pricing is $35 (the cost to provide a K-8 child in Kenya with education for a month) per entrant registered by Sunday\, May 12.\n\nNote that $25 of the $35 entry fee is considered tax deductible.\n\n\nEntry fee goes up to $45 (cost to provide day high school for a child in Kenya) through raceday morning.\nAdditional donations (any amount) also welcome.\nAlthough race day registration will be available\, pre-registration is highly encouraged so we can start on time and ensure we have sufficient bib numbers\, timing chips\, and post-race food for everyone!\n\n\n\nPacket Pickup and Parking\n\nPre-race packet pickup will be available at two times and locations:\n\nEastwind Community Church lobby (4750 S Surprise Way\, Boise\, ID  83716) before and after the 9:30 AM\, 11 AM\, and 5:01 PM services on Sunday\, May 12\nFleet Feet Treasure Valley’s Meridian location in The Village (3573 E.
