Now\,18 years later\, they have just wrapped on their fifth full-length studio album. Named after the Malcolm Gladwell book\, The Tipping Point was recorded with producer Cameron Webb (Pennywise\, Social Distortion\, Motorhead etc.) at Maple Studios in California. Their latest effort pays tribute to their punk rock forefathers while expanding their musical boundaries into unconventional reggae and rock tinges beyond the typical punk rock aesthetics\, creating a whirlwind rock album that will undoubtedly take listeners by storm. \nThe new album is set to be released on April 2nd via Hardline Entertainment-US/Canada/Japan\, Concrete Jungle-Europe/UK and 3wise Records-Australia and will be followed by a heavy touring schedule around the globe.  Lead Singer and Front Man\, Jason DeVore says “The excitement and anticipation for the new album The Tipping Point that I have is unparalleled\,” says vocalist Jason DeVore. “The closest thing I can think of is how I felt when we first released A Passage In Time so many years ago. After original guitarist and longtime friend Bill Marcks left the band in 2008\, members have seemed to come and go\, but the band and music has carried on. Recently\, after the release of their last album\, Stories of Survival\, guitarist Zach Vogel departed the band to return to his home in Wisconsin for more family time. Shortly after that and with the turn of the New Year in 2011\, long time friend and drummer Jim Wilcox also left the band to pursue other endeavors. \nAt this point\, many bands would have folded under the pressure of lineup changes and setbacks\, but the rest of the band carried on by inviting new recruits and Amarillo\, TX native Brandon Landelius on guitar along with legendary punk drummer\, Sean Sellers (Good Riddance\, Real McKenzies) on drums to restructure and complete the group. With the success of that hit\, Herb asked Hal David if he had another song for him to sing. Then Karen Carpenter walked into his recording studio at A & M records and Herb was blown away by her talent. So he gave the song to her. That song was “Close to You.” Another big discovery at A & M Records was Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66. DESCRIPTION:Twenty year-old identical twins who have been stirring the lively guitar scene in Orange County\, California\, with their rebelliously innovative blend of electronic punk conjured from\, mostly\, a bass guitar and a drum kit. They play three headline UK dates in December before going on tour with all-female rock band Warpaint in March. \nThe Garden emerged in 2011\, but Fletcher and Wyatt have been playing together for a decade. Their father\, who was in OC punk bands Final Conflict and Shattered Faith\, played The Prodigy\, Fatboy Slim and The Normal on the pre-school run. “It was an array of different bands that I thought were the weirdest thing ever as a kindergartner”\, says Fletcher. “Those were my earliest memories.” The duo formed out of the ashes of another band\, MHV\, and were signed to prolific punk label Burger Records swiftly after. An 18 minute-long album\, The Life and Times of a Paperclip\, was released in summer 2013\, after fashion designer Hedi Slimane invited the twins to walk the catwalk for Yves Saint Laurent – an event Fletcher is amused people still discuss nearly two years later. They have continued to release EPs despite their increasingly “crazy” travel demands over the past year. \nAlthough The Garden’s hypnotic music shares a Lo-Fi\, garage-punk sound\, few songs sound distinctly alike. Fletcher’s arch\, precise vocals on Open Abyss recall a scuzzier Edwyn Collins\, but have the nasal edge of label-mate Ty Segall on I’m A Woman. The infectiously catchy We Be Grindin’ has a more familiarly punk three-chord structure which is interrupted by minimalist electronic beats. The sparse\, drum and bass urgency of Cloak\, meanwhile\, is reminiscent of early Prodigy. Their latest single\, Suprise!\, has the propellant\, gothic basslines and shuddering vocals of The Horrors’ debut album. \nAside from a childhood soundtrack of post-punk – from Killing Joke and Political Crap – the Shears twins have diverse interests: including Japanese video game composer Manabu Namiki\, to Nineties American rapper E-40 and the late country singer Johnny Paycheck. \nTo avoid being pigeonholed\, The Garden have invented the term “Vada-Vada” to describe their sound. “I can break the rules because I made up this universe and this thing\,” says Fletcher. “That’s the whole beauty behind it. We don’t claim to be a punk band and we don’t claim to be a rock band. If we did that we’d have to stay inside boundaries that someone else made years and years ago.”

Danielle Rowe’s haunting ensemble work\, Dreamland\, is rounding out the evening\, created on Ballet Idaho in 2018—an evening of dance\, darkness\, and drama that is not to be missed.
