Hula is a low to moderate intensity dance class for those interested in learning the graceful storytelling of the Hawaiian people. ʻOri Tahiti is a moderate to high intensity dance class for those interested in learning Tahitian storytelling through upbeat hip movements. \nJoin us every Saturday from June 7th-August 30th at 9:00 AM in Fountain Square for this special Polynesian dance experience! \n\nAbout your instructor: \nLia Tupou’s dance journey began at the age of four\, nurtured by a family with deep ties to music\, and movement. Born in Oʻahu and raised in the Bay Area\, she trained with the esteemed Hula halau O Nalua and ʻOte’a ʻApi group\, refining her skills in Hawaiian and Tahitian dance. DESCRIPTION:As is tradition\, a beautiful fireworks display will launch from Ann Morrison Park on the 4th of July. \nSpend the evening at the park and enjoy the free fireworks show synced to music on 107.1 Hank FM. Fireworks are scheduled to fill the sky starting around 10:15 p.m. (dusk) on the 4th of July\, but festivities in Ann Morrison Park begin at 6 p.m. \nFood and drink vendors will be on site with concessions available for purchase throughout the evening. This year’s food trucks feature a variety of fresh fusion foods\, sweet treats and summertime classics. Towing will be delayed at these locations until 9 a.m. on Saturday\, July 5. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoad Closures\nAnn Morrison Park\n\nAnn Morrison Park will be closed to non-permitted vehicles all day on Friday\, July 4.\nTogether Treasure Valley Dog Island is open for use during the day\, however parking will not be available. Visitors will need to walk or bike to access the dog park.\n\nCrescent Rim\n\nThere will be no parking allowed on Crescent Rim from sunrise to 11 p.m. on Friday\, July 4.\nThe Boise Police Department will be closing Crescent Rim to through traffic starting at 6 p.m. on Friday\, July 4.\nResidents who live within the Crescent Rim closure area will be allowed access until 9 p.m. The Boise Police Department will then close road completely for the duration of the fireworks show.\n\nStreet closures will be implemented at these two intersections: \n\nCrescent Rim & Latah\nCrescent Rim & Eastover Terrace\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFood & Drink Vendors\nFood and drink vendors will open at 6 p.m. with concessions available throughout the evening. Drinks and alcoholic beverages are available from Parrilla Grill for those 21 and older. \n\nBenny’s Chick N Spuds\nConed Pizza\nDarjeeling Momo\nGyro Shack\nHot to Tot\nKona Ice\nMachu Picchu Peruvian Food Truck\nMini Doh!Nuts!\nMustards\nScotty’s Hot Dogs\nTiki’s Shave Ice\nWok N’ Roll\n\n*This list of vendors is subject to change. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTips for Attendees\n\nNo fireworks or sparklers are allowed in the park.\nDrones are not permitted.\nPlease leave pets at home.\nConsider bringing the following items: water\, sunscreen\, bug spray\, and a blanket or chair to sit on.\nBring a flashlight to facilitate a safe and visible exit from the park after the show.\nNo glass bottles or containers are allowed in the park.\nAlcoholic beverages are illegal within 250 feet of the Boise River.\nSmoking and vaping are prohibited except in a designated area in the southwest corner of the park near the duck pond.\nThe disc golf course in Ann Morrison Park will be closed July 3 and 4.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFloating the River\nAnyone planning to float on the Fourth of July holiday will need to plan ahead since Ann Morrison Park will be closed to vehicle traffic all day. Please make plans to carpool and park at Barber Park (limited parking for a fee\, get there early) and take the shuttle back after your float. Shuttles from Ann Morrison Park to Barber Park will run from noon to 5:30 p.m. There is no parking in Ann Morrison Park all day on Friday\, July 4. \nFind more information about floating the river on the official Float the Boise website\, www.FloatTheBoise.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter the Fireworks\nAt the conclusion of the fireworks\, Americana Blvd. will be closed for approximately 45 minutes to allow pedestrians to exit the park. Officers will assist pedestrians exiting the park and will also be staffing closures at Americana/Shoreline and Americana/Emerald/Latah. Officers will also be in the area of Capitol/University to assist pedestrians crossing Capitol Blvd. \nTraffic may be heavily congested as you leave Ann Morrison Park. Please be courteous and careful as you exit.

This new leadership role—created in recognition of her profound impact on Idaho’s veterans—cements her legacy of service and dedication to ensuring veterans have access to the resources and support they deserve. \n  \nThroughout her career\, Cheldelin has been a driving force behind veteran advocacy\, leading the expansion of Joining Forces\, which now includes dedicated chapters across Idaho and an annual conference in Boise. She played a key role in launching the Idaho Veterans Guide and has been instrumental in statewide veteran suicide prevention efforts. Her hands-on approach has directly improved the lives of countless veterans\, from helping to secure funding for emergency needs and financial aid to organizing Honor Flight send-offs\, POW/MIA tributes\, and countless other efforts. \n  \nCheldelin is quick to credit her team at IDVS with emphasis on IDVS Director Mark Tschampl and her second in command Marisa McCarter. DESCRIPTION:New York psych-pop band Crumb return with AMAMA\, their most carefree and open-hearted album to date. A soundscape full of playful and patchwork experimentation — glitchy pitch-shifted vocals\, cell phone recordings\, nautical blips\, sax mouthpiece solos\, blasted drum samples\, and piano strings dampened with Silly Putty — AMAMA continues to deepen the band’s hypnotic sound in a cohesive line back through 2021’s Ice Melt\, 2019’s Jinx\, and breakout EPs Locket and Crumb. Without a doubt\, AMAMA is Crumb — singer and multi-instrumentalist Lila Ramani\, keyboardist and saxophonist Bri Aronow\, bassist Jesse Brotter\, and drummer Jonathan Gilad — at their most animated. \nBuoyed by Ramani’s songwriting\, at turns poetically abstract and directly confessional\, AMAMA culls the strange encounters from Crumb’s touring years\, tracing the dizzying path of a group that’s been in movement for nearly a decade. “Crushxd” is an ecstatic requiem for a turtle flattened under the tires of a tour van; “(Alone in) Brussels” finds Ramani in forced isolation in a distant city. On “The Bug\,” we’re at a pit stop in a seedy motel\, where a critter’s bite leaves a nagging feeling: “It’s always on my mind / it’s just always on my mind\,” Ramani repeats over a creeping groove as she wanders the place at night. On “Side by Side\,” perhaps the most candid track on AMAMA\, frenetic percussion and disorienting\, layered synth envelop Ramani as she considers the personal sacrifices she’s made along the way. \nEven as it explores transient stops and fraught encounters\, AMAMA features some of Crumb’s most vulnerable\, tender searches for organic connection. “Home is what I want and what I need\,” Ramani sings on the clear-sighted opener\, “From Outside a Window Sill”—which samples a police radio scan about a flock of geese crossing a bridge in Gowanus\, Brooklyn\, where Ramani grew up. The title track\, “AMAMA\,” is an upbeat and hopeful homage to Ramani’s grandmother\, her namesake\, who sings in Malayalam in the opening sample. The two voices\, Lila’s and Leela’s\, separated by language and place\, intertwine as if on a spotty long-distance call in what is the most direct love song of Crumb’s repertoire. On the album’s closer\, “XXX\,” laden with distorted\, industrial sounds\, we finally find respite—a house shared between two lovers\, a safe place. In the last moments\, Ramani asks: “Isn’t this as good as it can get?” \nAMAMA exists at the crossroads of psychedelia\, pop\, jazz\, and rock\, and cements Crumb as a band uniquely their own. Released independently on Crumb Records and produced alongside Johnscott Sanford and Jonathan Rado in Los Angeles\, AMAMA is an incandescent statement about searching for solid ground\, connection\, and clarity in a life of nomadic upheaval. \n\n \n\nDiscovery Zone\nDiscovery Zone is the experimental pop project of New York / Berlin musician and multimedia artist JJ Weihl. After the slow-building but undeniable fervor around her debut album Remote Control\, Discovery Zone announced her second album Quantum Web due out March 8th via RVNG Intl. and Mansions and Millions (GSA). Inspired by the omnipresence of advertising and corporate culture as much as the potential of cybernetics and neural networks\, Discovery Zone plunges into an uncanny valley with Quantum Web\, where the distinctions between the earnest and the ironic blur in tandem with the border between the human and the post-human. Discovery Zone explores a widescreen pop sound speckled with luminous vocal performances and baroque instrumental flourishes.
