  1. Ann Morrison Park (seasonal, not fenced)

    Ann Morrison Park is huge, with 153 acres of fun courses and activities to explore. This park is open to off-leash pets from November 1 through the end of February.Location – 1000 S Americana Blvd, Boise, ID Hours – Open Sunrise to Sunset

  2. Together Treasure Valley Dog Island (year-round, fenced)

    This off-leash park is located in the southwest corner of Ann Morrison Park, available for dogs and dog lovers to enjoy year-round. Off-Leash Trail Locations Near Boise

If you’ve spent any time on the Ridge to Rivers Trail System, you know that all trails are open to dogs so long as they are on a leash. A few trails allow off-leash play time, and this information is usually posted near the trailhead.

And just in case you forget to bring doggie bags, “Mutt mitt stations” will be available at most trailheads. Don’t forget to do your part to keep our trails clean for all.

In most cities, finding pet-friendly restaurants can be like reaching the last little bit of peanut butter in the bottom of the jar… sloppy and time-consuming!

Here are a few recommendations for pet-friendly bars, breweries, pizza joints and other local favorites that won’t turn you away with your tail between your legs.

  1. Hyde Park Pub & GrillCome as you are to this local neighborhood gem! The folks at Hyde Park love dogs and even have a dedicated entrance just for you and your furry little friend (partly because it’s fun, partly because it’s against the health code for dogs to enter the main area of the restaurant).

  2. Telaya Wine CompanyJust off the Boise River Greenbelt, Telaya Wine Company has a tasting deck that’s perfect for a short rest after an fun afternoon playing near the water. Do some people watching, enjoy the elevated fire pit (doggie-safe), and maybe even make a few new friends! If you’re lucky, you might just land some free pet health advice – one of the owners is a veterinarian!

  3. Trolley House

    Lots of dog-owners frequent the patio here for brunch and burgers with their doggos. If you ask nicely, the waiters are even known to bring out water in a dog bowl!

  4. Highlands Hollow Brewhouse

    Enter through the patio door, it’s usually open but poke your head in to say hey and check first. Management asks for dogs to stay quiet, be well-behaved, and remain under your table. 

  5. 10 Barrel Brewing Boise

    Located right in the heart of downtown Boise, these brewers love making it possible for you to bring your dog along when you’re in the mood for a drink. 

  6. ForkTripAdvisor ranks this spot at #9 out of 500+ Boise restaurants. The shaded patio is spacious enough for your pup to lay down near the table and Fork even provides water dishes to help your dog stay cool. me enjoy classic New American dishes and see what all the rave is about.
  7. Westside Drive-InThis retro drive-in is a great lunch spot. The kitchen opens at 11am and outdoor tables make a great space to hang out with your doggie friends.
  8. Cloud 9 BreweryThis restaurant is one of Boise’s first breweries, now offering 8 outdoor tables for you and your dog to come hang out from 11am til close.
  9. Symposion
    This low-key dive bar is off the beaten path, offering inexpensive drinks and space for you to bring your dog indoors!

Rules and Regulations for Off-Leash Dogs (taken from the City of Boisewebsite)

As a responsible dog owner, it is up to you to follow the City of Boise’s rules and regulations. The Boise Police Department, Idaho Humane Society and City of Boise Animal Compliance all have the authority to enforce the rules and regulations established by the city.

According to Boise City Code, dog owners must adhere to the following laws when visiting Boise parks with their dogs:

  • Dogs are required to be licensed in the City of Boise.Learn more
  • Dogs may not harass humans or other animals including wildlife.
  • Dogs must be on a leash unless in an area otherwise indicated.
  • Owners are required to pick up after their pets.

Additionally, there are rules and regulations that all visitors of dog off-leash parks and areas should be aware of.

Dogs

  • You must wear a visible and current animal license. Not licensed? Your owner can get you onehere.
  • If you’re aggressive, you’re not welcome. Period.

Owners

  • You are legally responsible for your dog’s behavior and any injuries or damages he/she causes.
  • By entering the dog off-leash area, you do so at your own risk and agree to abide by all park rules.
  • Never leave the off-leash area without your dog(s), leave them unattended, or allow them out of sight. Your dog should be under voice control, meaning they are obedient and respond to your commands.

You are required to carry the equipment necessary to clean up after your dog. Remove and dispose of waste in bins provided. Follow leave no trace practices.

Always carry a leash; leash your dog(s) when entering/leaving a park.
