Kick off the holiday weekend a day early in Marsing, where one of the Treasure Valley’s best-loved small-town traditions lights up the Snake River. The Marsing 3rd of July Fireworks Celebration does double duty — launching the Independence Day festivities while also marking Idaho’s statehood (Idaho became a state on July 3, 1890). Drawing crowds of 5,000+ from across Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon, it’s a scenic, laid-back evening that locals consider a hidden gem.

Head to Marsing’s Island Park for a full evening of family fun: a dunk tank, bounce house, kids’ train, games, live music and entertainment, and the beloved Marsing Lions Club BBQ. Find your perfect spot along the riverbank and watch the fireworks reflect off the Snake River at dusk, then stick around for the after-fireworks dance. It’s free to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase.
