40th Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Run

42nd Annual Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Run 2026

Join us for the 42nd Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Run! This beloved one-mile run is open to children 15 under.

Our course begins in front of the State Capitol, with participants racing down Jefferson, up Bannock and back to Cecil D. Andrus Park.

The event promotes health and well-being among the community’s youth, with every participant receiving a commemorative medal and a stylish T-shirt.

Hosted by  Saint Alphonsus and the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, the Capitol Classic Kids Run is a cherished tradition that fosters a sense of community and encourages a healthy lifestyle.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet Pick Up: Friday, May 29th from 3-7pm at Bandanna Running & Walking (504 W Main St, Boise ID 83702)

Now Offering: Race Day Packet Pick Up: Saturday, May 30th at the Start Area from 8:00am – 10:30am

We highly recommend early packet pick-up to avoid the lines on race day


Parking

Parking is limited in the area. We encourage you to ride bikes, carpool or walk to the event. Please be respectful of the neighbors and do not block driveways or sidewalks.


Shortened/Adaptive Course

The Capitol Classic encourages kids with all abilities to participate. There is an adaptive course for kids with physical or mental disabilities that starts at 11:00am. Kids will start at the Bannock St & Capitol Blvd intersection, turn left on 6th St, go left on Jefferson St., and then back into Cecil D. Andrus Park.

1 Mile Course Details:

This thrilling one-mile journey begins in front of the State Capitol with the iconic bell ringing. Participants will run down jefferson, turning left on 11th. Participants will head back up Bannock before turning onto 4th and returning to Cecil D Andrus Park.
