Kick off Star’s Independence Day celebration the active way at the Firecracker Fun Run, returning to Freedom Park for another festive Fourth of July morning. This family-friendly 5K winds through the park in three full laps and is open to both walkers and runners — go solo or grab two friends and tackle it as a 3-person relay team (each participant registers individually). It’s the perfect energetic start to a full day of Star’s holiday festivities.

Show up in your most patriotic gear — Mayor Chadwick will be picking his favorite looks before the starting horn sounds. Your entry includes a limited-edition Fun Run t-shirt (guaranteed for those who register by the June 15 shirt deadline), and check-in doubles as shirt pickup. After you cross the finish, stick around for Star’s all-day celebration, including the patriotic parade at 10 AM, a splash zone, pie contest, food vendors, live music, and a community fireworks show to close out the night.

Lace up, dress in your red, white, and blue, and start your Fourth with the whole community.
