July 4, 2025

Star Spangled 4th

Idaho 4th of July Parade from Boise Schedule of Events

Idaho 4th of July Parade from Boise 2025 Theme: Star Spangled 4th

Come gather in Idaho’s Capital City to celebrate our Nation’s birth. The downtown Boise parade travels on Jefferson and Bannock streets in front of the State Capitol. Our community comes together to celebrate our freedoms and the blessing it is to be an American.

Join the festivities as a parade participant or spectator. Judged parade entries will compete for prize money to support Idaho non-profits. Businesses, organizations, and families are all welcome to come together and show that United We Stand for a strong community, city and nation.

Mitzi Cheldelin Named Grand Marshal of the 2025 Boise 4th of July Parade

Mitzi Cheldelin, a tireless advocate for Idaho’s veteran community and the newly appointed Director of Veterans Outreach & Community Support for the Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS), has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Boise 4th of July Parade. This new leadership role—created in recognition of her profound impact on Idaho’s veterans—cements her legacy of service and dedication to ensuring veterans have access to the resources and support they deserve.

Throughout her career, Cheldelin has been a driving force behind veteran advocacy, leading the expansion of Joining Forces, which now includes dedicated chapters across Idaho and an annual conference in Boise. She played a key role in launching the Idaho Veterans Guide and has been instrumental in statewide veteran suicide prevention efforts. Her hands-on approach has directly improved the lives of countless veterans, from helping to secure funding for emergency needs and financial aid to organizing Honor Flight send-offs, POW/MIA tributes, and countless other efforts.

Cheldelin is quick to credit her team at IDVS with emphasis on IDVS Director Mark Tschampl and her second in command Marisa McCarter. Equally important are the many organizations she collaborates with, emphasizing that these achievements are the result of a united effort to serve those who served.

Her selection as Grand Marshal is a testament to her unwavering commitment to Idaho’s veterans and military families. As a leader in veteran outreach and support, she embodies the values of service, sacrifice, and community, making her a truly fitting choice to lead Boise’s Independence Day celebration.

Parade Participation

Businesses, organizations, and families are invited to enter and participate in the parade. Entries can choose to be judged and compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Winning entries will receive $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 for their charities of choice.
