Alt-country pioneers Old 97’s bring three decades of twang, grit, and barroom energy to Boise’s Knitting Factory. Formed in Dallas in 1993, the band helped define the alt-country and Americana movement with their high-octane blend of country, punk, and rock — and they’re widely regarded as one of the best live bands in the business. From beloved classics off Too Far to Care and Satellite Rides to fan favorites like “Time Bomb,” “Doreen,” and “Question,” frontman Rhett Miller and the band deliver marathon, sweat-soaked sets packed with the kind of rowdy, joyful energy that’s kept fans coming back for over 30 years.
Opening the night is singer-songwriter River Shook, setting the stage with their own brand of roots music.
The Knitting Factory is the perfect room for it. As one of downtown Boise’s premier concert houses, the intimate, general-admission space puts you right up close to the stage, with crisp sound and the buzzing energy of a packed floor. Located in the heart of downtown, it’s surrounded by bars and restaurants — making it easy to grab dinner and drinks before the show and keep the night going after.
Whether you’ve followed them since the ’90s or you’re just discovering their catalog, this is a high-energy night of Americana you won’t want to miss.
