The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic 2025 is a breathtaking celebration of color, community, and flight, held annually at Ann Morrison Park in Boise, Idaho. Now in its 34th year, this beloved event fills the skies with dozens of vibrant hot air balloons, creating a magical experience for locals and visitors alike 

Running from August 27 to August 31, the festival features:

  • CapEd Kid’s Day with free tethered balloon rides for children
  • Media Day and VIP Day with special access and behind-the-scenes views
  • The dazzling Nite Glow Spectacular, where balloons light up the night sky
  • Opportunities to meet balloon pilots (aeronauts) and learn about ballooning
  • A family-friendly atmosphere with music, food, and community spirit

While public balloon rides aren’t available, the event offers plenty of up-close experiences and photo-worthy moments as balloons drift over downtown Boise and iconic landmarks

Wild River Dash Duathlon

Wild River Dash Duathlon: August 23, 9am

The Wild River Dash Duathlon 2025 is the Treasure Valley’s only paddle + run race, taking place on Saturday, August 23 at Esther Simplot Park in Boise. Hosted by Wild Hearts Idaho, this fun, family-friendly event celebrates women, outdoor adventure, and community spirit.

Participants can race solo or as a relay team, starting with a 0.5-mile paddle across Quinn’s Pond followed by a 2-mile run along the scenic Boise Greenbelt. Kids and teens have their own age-appropriate courses, making it an inclusive event for all ages.

Proceeds support Wild Hearts Idaho’s mission to remove transportation barriers for girls participating in outdoor programs. Whether you’re racing, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, the Wild River Dash is all about being wild and going wild for a great cause.
